Any tigerdirect reps here? I'm confused about the promo the tigerdirect product pages don't show it but the main advertisement on the front page says "...Your Geforce GTX 780 Ti also comes with the hottest holiday games FREE..." (last paragraph) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/campaigns/deals.asp?campaignid=2754&cm_re=Homepage-_-Spot%2001a-_-CatId_campaign_nvidiaGtx780Ti
And the guy in the chat linked me the old gtx 780 which has the bundle in the product page...
Try checking again. What you saw was likely the right card but there was a typo earlier this morning where Tiger accidentally left the Ti off the description. They responded and fixed everything right away once it was caught though so it should show up correctly now.
$700 is a buzkill price coming on the heels of the AMD 290 at $400
Steak versus microwaved chicken nuggets.
Buy AMD card and you're stuck with an AMD card that sucks power and sounds like a blowdryer

Lol unfair? So now both cards have to be on equal temps, equal air speeds, equal noise levels for them to be compared?
They should be on comparable terms as far as non-default settings vs. default . Uber mode is not comparable to the stock nVidia settings which are analagous to the "quiet mode" on the R9 290X. Of course I already went over that in my post but you seemed to have stopped reading pretty early on. I bet you'll read this next sentence just fine though... carry on with your threadcrapping.
I paid about the same, or maybe a bit more for an 8800GTX back in the day.........it seems out of line when you factor in the 290 prices, but all things considered, its not really a bad price.$700 dollars is ridiculous.
No sale Nvidia.

Name calling already? That was quick.
So because AMD gives you a hardware switch to reduce it's power it's automatically a non-default setting? In my opinion Uber mode is what it's MEANT to be run on. Quiet mode is just there to reduce complaints, 99% of end users will run it in uber mode. All it does is jack up the fan speed. It essentially runs the same as Nvidia's GPU Boost and fan scaling.
$700? Y I K E S ? Are they seriously charging that?
I knew this thing was coming out but why on earth is it 75% more than a 290?
Insane
Considering the R9 290X is $550, and is usually reviewed on "uber mode" 95c highspeed-noisy-fan non-default settings which are unfair compared to an unchanged, 80-82c temp target quiet $700 780 Ti with 3 free games worth a large amount of change, it's not a buzzkill at all. Test the cards on equal footing with either quiet mode on the 290X and the quiet mode default on the 780 Ti, or 95c uber mode to temp target 95c on the 780 Ti and the tale changes wildly, with the 780 Ti pulling far ahead while still being quieter. Add in features like downsampling, transparency supersampling, better drivers overall, physx, hbao+, tweakable AA/SLI bits, and it's a no-brainer to pick the 780 Ti vs. the 290X if you can afford it. People aren't buying the 780 Ti because of the brand name, educated buyers are getting it for the features & performance in actual gaming.
As someone said in another thread $700? lol. nVidia's been sandbagging for years, and still overcharging for their products; IN reality, this should be going for under $500 considering.
Doesn't the price of a water-block (and associated supporting components) rather close the price gap?Not if you plan to water cool it and already have a 1200 watt PSU
What "should be" is a fantasy and tips your hand as having skipped economics class. I'd recommend starting here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supply_and_demand
The day they are technically "overcharging" is the day _enough_ people are no longer paying the asking price and they're compelled to lower it.

This is a hot deal? Pretty sure this should be in the video card forum.
