GTX 2060 super to what ?

What resolution do you play at, and what is your budget? Otherwise, an RTX 4090 is a good bet!
 
I'd recommend a 3080ti :) if you want to blow the whole budget. Otherwise a 3070 (vanilla) will work well at $450ish.
 
If Nvidia isn't a requirement, new 6700xts are nearly $400, even under that.

Can get a 6800xt for about $600 which will easily rock 1440p.

*Edit* There's currently a power color 6700xt on Amazon for $370. That's a lot of 1440p bang for buck.

My vote is for a 3070 or 6800 XT, but couldn't pass this up.

Idk. If you were considering a 6800xt then you don't need Nvidia features. If that's true, why would you get a 3070 over a 6700xt? It's much cheaper and comes pretty close overall.

For rasterized performance, the Nvidia lineup doesn't compete well atm outside of cherry picked titles.
 
Lower version of the 4080 aka 4070ti specs or if you want something now... Wait for 3090ti prices to fall a bit more. If you you willing to try red team 6900xt
 
If you don't have a problem buying used. For $800 you can buy some nice gpu's right now. $650 for a 3080 10g hybrid in the market place. Plenty of good used deals right now.

A 3070 doesn't seem like much of an upgrade over a GeForce 2060 Super. The 2060 Super already performs about the same as a 3060 in most titles.

If you're thinking about a 3080 or higher, make sure to factor in a power supply upgrade if you need one. A 2060 Super would happily run with a 550 Watt power supply.

A 3070 is well over 50% faster than a 2060 Super at 1440p...
 
With the budget...

nVidia - New? Wait a bit, and buy a 3080 or 3080Ti. Used? Same cards are running now $600-700
AMD - 6800XT or 6900XT.

Prices are falling hard, fast and are exceedingly un-likely to spike back up (GPU Cyrpto mining is dead, which is why this is happening) . So thats worth keeping in mind.
 
I just picked up a 3080 ti for 1440 gaming a month ago. Upgraded from a 1080 ti which is probably close to your 2060 Super. I have a 27" Gsync monitor. I have some buyers remorse. Frame rates on the games I compared it to are about 80-90% higher. AC Valhalla, AC Odyssey, Spiderman Remastered, and Watch Dogs Legion. All of those games I had significant playtime into before the upgrade and none of them were more enjoyable after the upgrade. I paid $860 for my card and don't feel it was worth it. I credit Gsync for this. I did have occasional, rare hiccups in frame rates in all of them on my 1080 ti and it pissed me off. So I upgraded. Turns out rare hiccups still happen even though my average frame rate is far higher with a 3080 ti. Maybe it's game engine problems or limitations of my 5ghz all core 10850k.

This upgrade also introduced some screen tearing that I haven't seen since the move to Gsync and a high refresh monitor years ago. Screen tearing is what made me change from a 30" Ultrasharp to a 27" 144hz Gsync. I haven't been able to figure out a setting combination to make it completely go away. I haven't tried Vsync yet, it's my last resort.

Overall I think I could have gotten by with my 1080 ti for awhile longer. Until I started dropping below 30 fps and the games I played weren't there yet.
Edit: I'll say that Spiderman Remastered with Ray Tracing on and everything set to the max looked noticeably better. However, night scenes where it was the most impressive still brought the 3080 ti down far enough to feel laggy. So I had to dial some things back. Which lessened the improvement.

i'm on 2060, was planning to upgrade to 3080. but since nvidia screwed us again with the 3000 and 4000 series pricing, i would suggest for 6800 or above.

One last question if I switch graphics card companies do I have to redo or reinstall Windows 11? Doubting it but wanted to make sure.

Also will AMD 6800 or any AMD video card work with my projector and screen as a second monitor still at 60 hz ? My computer monitor is 144 hz don't worry.
 
Sorry forgot something any problem mounting a stock nvidia geforce 3070 ti or a Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 6800 PCIe 4.0 Gaming Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6 vertically ?

Should I sell my EVGA RTX 2060 super right now or wait ?

Either way I will sell it at a reasonable price not overpriced.
 
GPU prices are in the toilet now anyway. I don't think the price is going to change much if you sold it now or waited until you had a replacement.

- Nope you don't need to reinstall windows at all. Since Win10 you have been able to actuallly have both installed at the same time without issue :LOL:
- Shouldn't be an issue

- At least for the Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 6800. There some reports of the reference cooler running a little hotter on the 6800, but the pulse isn't a reference cooler so you should be fine

Funny thing with Windows though happened to me - I installed my 3080 after running DDU, and windows kept installing my old GPU drivers once I booted up with the new gpu.

Second time I uninstalled everything manually along with DDU - physx, and anything else with an Nvidia name... Still had an error.

Then I looked it up and found an option to stop windows from auto updating drivers. And it worked.

I have my 3070 on it's side like a test bench in my case, the RX 6600 is in the side mount right now , vertically will work also, I also have an RX 580 8Gb upside down in a case the runs the mother board upside down.
