What kind of frames should I expect with this setup with a 720BE? I will be playing at 1920x1200.

Dont.

get a gtx275 or radeon 4890.

Cheaper, and more consistent performance

And onceagain noone asks if he already has a single GTS 250 . . . which he probably does. And maybe he doesn't want to fuss with having to sell a car then buying another or FFS 2 more when he can add another for a very reasonable price nowadays.

GTS 250 = 9800GTX+

=8800GTS?

If he wants to SLI 8800gt cards, would it not be faster/more cost effictive to go with 260s or 4870s?
If he does have a 8800/9800/250, would it not be better to sell the one on craigs/ebay and purchase newer cheaper cards?

I'd go with a 5850 (if you can find one at MSRP) or a GTX275. Those two cards are well suited for 1920x1200. When you start going beyond that, is when SLI is needed IMO. My 275 handled Crysis just fine at that res but I needed a second to drive it at 2560x1600.

Anyway, if you already have a GTS250, then I suppose going SLI is an option. I would sell the card though and get either a 5850 or 275, personally.

Sell the 250 for ~$120? on ebay/craigs and pick up a 4870/4890 or a 260/275. SLI?Xfire them if you feel the need...

No offense guys, but all I was asking is what kind of frames I should expect, not what to buy. I could be asking it just for reference purposes. I have a 4870x2, gtx 260, ect.

Try googling for GTS 250 Sli revews and try to find one with the game/s you play and that should give you at the very least a semi-accurte idea of what to expect as fa as percentage increase goes.Doesnt look like 95% of the people on [H]F can read or comprehend plain english so you'd be better of on googe.

Seems like every time someone asks a simple question here they only get [H]ard [H]eaded people with answers to questions that don't exist in a given thread.

I'm sorry, but my internet connection made me stop at page 3 of search.

Best of luck to you!

EDIT: I remember reading sometime back how a 9800GX2 was faster then the GTX280, but the 9800gx2 was pulled out of production so quickly after that...

EDIT2: The 9800GX2 is the only dual GPU, single card g92 core (the gts250, 9800gtx, and so many other nvidia cards are based on this core, but the 8800gts [512], 9800gtx/9800gtx+, GTS250, and 9800GX2 are the 'best' versions of the g92, with no SP binned) card there is, and is roughly comparible for a SLI gts250 setup. However, their reviews are scarce, nowadays.

Most of the people here have blinders on when they see the name 250GTS. I wouldnt worry about it. I have one too. I am happy with it. It was a great cheap major upgrade from my 7800GTX. I have the 1 gig card.

I have 2x 8800 GTS 512s. I.e. the lower clock version of that same card. I have the cash, but havn't found a reason to upgrade. 90-95% of my games the only setting that isn't maxed is AA. I run at 1920x1200.

Yeah I think I may sit on it IDK yet. I have a GTX 260 in my possession, but my 3600+ x2, PSU and case are holding me back (could cut the case). I don't think I am seeing a bottle neck from the CPU, but I wish my mobo took a faster CPU. Abit Nf-M2S. Rock solid board.
