GPU lengths

Gigabyte GTS450 dual slot (not the dual fan OC one) is ~21cm long, plus room for the end mounted 6pin plug.. 110watts...

Do you have a pic showing them side by side? I couldn't find a review of it myself with detailed specs. XFX has a few similar models in this category on their website and the difference seems to be the cooling fans and such but the overall pcb board lengths seem to be the same so I'm guessing its 8.5 inches like the others. I could be wrong but I doubt its more than 8.5 inches. What are you wanting to put it into?

look at the 550ti then look at the 6770 . notice the bottom looks similar in length

I was thinking the 6770 may fit in a q07

Be sure in that visual comparison you compare the relative heights as well. I thinks its easier to compare the PCI slot tab to the stuff past it for comparison. Most hd 6770s are about 8.5"

So it does. I thought we were discussing the XFX, but hey, this works. I just wish the connector was on top instead of the end. Good find!

I added the Radeon 6770 and 6750 to the list.

Newegg doesn't list any short 6770's,that Sapphire Flex is probably the card you want. Overclockers club confirms the measurement of the GPU being ~7.5" long.

I did find a short 6750 on newegg and listed that one as well

Make sure that you know what manufacturer you're going with, guys/gals. Different companies use different heatsink coolers, etc.

any decent half-height gpu's out there? Last I remember, powercolor's 5750 was tops (>60fps in cod4 @ 1920x1200 at less than 80w).

Assuming you mean low profile, there's the AFox 6850. It's dual slot though, and you have to order it from Japan.

hrmmm... it'd be tight fitting that on a 12.5A pico (w/ T-series SB), but sounds like a challenge :D

I assume that you'd have to undervolt the cards to make it work, right?

Powercolor 5750 specifications
"Board Dimensions" : 183mm x 69mm

Palit GTS 450 specifications
"PCB Width" : 190mm x 69mm

AFOX 6850 (estimate)
PCB + cooler : ~235 long x 69mm

The Afox measurement came from this photo. I assumed the PCI bracket was 120mm long, and I confirmed that I had reasonable accuracy by measuring the PCB to be 68.3mm wide. If we assume the true width is 69mm, I was off by about 1%. The length measurement could be further off due to perspective, but it's close enough.

Added mm to the post.

Regarding sharing the spreadsheet, do you have advice on how to best do this? I am also not sure if it would be THAT helpful because it's far from comprehensive. Of the 581 GPU models on NewEgg, I have measurements from 237 of them; less than half and NewEgg certainly doesn't stock every card on the market, but I'd gladly offer it, if I knew of a good way to do it.
You could follow this format, specifically for GPUs.

The Frozr III cant be unlocked. An MSI rep let that story out without verifying and later retracted it. I'll have to find that link later. Maybe the first rev of the card could but none of the current ones do. Unfortunately that misinformation is still getting around.

From what I understand the Frozr II CAN be unlocked. But without a BIOS switch it's risky. The 4fps boost isnt worth the chance of a brick. Overlocking to 6970 speeds (which it can do easily) is much better improvement.

EDIT:

Found the link: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18278371

Looks like someone figured out how to unlock it on page 3, but there aren't a whole lot of confirmations. Wow, that situation is a huge mess. I think I'll stick with my Frozr II. Plus the Frozr III won't fit in an SG05 due to the added shroud.
Correct on the Frozr II. My Frozr III could definitely not be unlocked using any method.

Your post reminded me that I could format the data using html. I can't use html code in this forum, but I can host it using another site and share the link, which is what I have done.

Listed at the bottom is a link to the lengths of various graphics cards. This information came from Newegg. In their terms of service, I did not see a request to not compile and provide this information, but if I missed it and am breaking [H] rules please inform me and I will remove the information.

This is data for the following cards
NVIDIA
460
550 TI
560
560 Ti
570

AMD
5750
5770
6750
6770
6790
6850
6870
6950

This is data for 134 of the 228 cards listed at Newegg that were found when performing a power search for "retail" cards and the models listed above. Search was performed July 11, 2011

I compiled the information and turned the data into a table through "TABLEIZER!" and then I used "pastehtml" to host the table.

Below is the link.

there is another option for a gtx 570, the evga 570 classified coming in a 9" with external exhaust and front facing power connection. just what i was looking for but the ventilation design might prove to be troublesome.

EDIT: turns out the 570 classified isnt 9" after all. more like 10.5". its a shame, would have been nice to have an EE 570 that would have fit in my q11.

Anyone know the length of the Gigabyte GTX 560 TI?

On Gigabytes official website and one of Swedens largest computer store it says 241mm but pretty much every rewiev I've looked at says it's 229mm.

Another field should be location of power connector, i.e top or side.

Also, newegg's numbers are not accurate. I found this out while looking for a 560 for my Q11.

The card itself could be 229mm and the cooler could bring the OAL to 241mm

should add power color 6770 at 7.18

also power color 5770 was same i beleive

very nice list

Jen

I will add that 6770 to the front page. Even thought the 6770 is basically identical to the 5770, I think I am going to save myself the work of listing both. If you disagree, I am easily persuaded.

By the way, if the list ends up being useful, I wouldn't mind hearing what it was used for. Or more importantly, if you tried to use it and it wasn't useful because (INSERT SPEC) was missing, give me that feedback. Before anyone asks, I won't compile all of NewEgg's listed specifications because I think that would be a disservice to NewEgg.

Unfortunately, I can't create a table that lists the location of the power connectors because that has to be determined by clicking on the supplied NewEgg photos.

Yeah, I spoke to an EVGA rep recently who stated that it was a mistake and that the card was actually GTX580 reference PCB, so 10.5".

On a side note, as well as the three GTX560Ti Palit models that are 7.4", there's also the Gainward models - both Phantoms and the Golden Sample editions.

Very true.

I tried to include that fact by posting at the bottom:
"Gainward (Euro company) is owned by Palit and shares the same PCBs much of the time"

I'll gladly add them to the list, as I think the Gainward brand tends to be of higher quality than the Palit brand. Who is the largest retailer in Europe who carried Gainward cards?

There are a few of them that stock Gainward cards. Overclockers UK, Scan, and EBuyer are the three I use, they all stock a decent number of them. :)

Also, Sapphire do a 9.45" HD6950 in both 1GB and 2GB flavours. The power connectors are on the back though, which will add at least half an inch to the required space.

So if the HD6950 MSI twin frozr II fits in a SG05, could one assume the MSI twin frozr III fits (the twin frozr III according to MSI's website is 10mm shorter)

This may also allow the Sapphire 6950 varients to fit as well such as:
http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1041&pid=1082&psn=&lid=1&leg=0

and this one (which apparently is 260mm the same length of the Twin Frozr II) but it has a dual bios.
http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1041&pid=1235&psn=&lid=1&leg=0

The length of the PNY 560 TI in the list is wrong. It says 8.25 on Newegg and in this list but is 9.5 in actuality. With the pci e connectors it barely fits, it is snugged up against the wall.

The distributors/retailers are listed here per country: http://www.gainward.com/main/wtb.php?lang=en
Even though the Netherlands isn't listed there I was able to order the 560 Ti Phantom2 through MaxICT.nl who just forwarded the order to one of the German resellers.

When it arrives I'll let you know whether it fits width-ways. It's listed as "2.5 x PCI slot" width so should be 50mm, but I think there's only about 52mm available in the SG05 between the PCI slot and the case. One reason I picked this 560 Ti card over the very ugly Club3d Green Edition is that the ATX connectors are on top of the card, and so even though it's longer, the Phantom2 leaves enough room for 2 fans and the H60 radiator (188mm + 25mm + 27mm + 25mm = 265mm). I don't want to have to bend or loosen or resolder anything.

Keep us updated, as i'm interested to know if it fits myself. I always assumed it wouldn't, or that cooling would be badly compromised if it did.

Guess we could add in the Elsa Gladiac 560ti mini as a theoretical possibility. It is only 170mm (6.7 in) long but may be a Europe/Asia release. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1640198

Note that someone in the linked thread shows a similar model being made by Club (which is a European brand I believe). Maybe we'll see one of the U.S. manufacturers pick up this design?

My Gainward GTX 560 Ti Phantom finally arrived. It's 41mm from the PCB to the outer edge of the cooling shroud, so I'm sure it will fit very well in my SG05. I was doing the build at my work, so I won't know until Monday for definite, but when I measured from the PCIe slot to the inside of the case, there was at least 49mm spare. Plenty of room then. It seems to be the ideal GPU for this case, since it's just within the power envelope and I can have my push-pull fans and H60 radiator all within the case :)

The length seems to be 188mm from the inside of the expansion bracket. So I'm now assuming I can fit a 2.5" hdd in the space at the end of the Phantom. I could also put the hdd above the Phantom, hanging from the top of the left side of the PSU. And if I reverse the PSU then I can also velcro an SSD hanging above the motherboard.
