yeah, MGS series is one of my favorites and though I like the Half-life series, I would choose MGS over Half-life any day
 
Too bad, looks like Link's going to take this one. I knew it was going to be Link vs. Mario. Both are sort of anime in some old time sense.
 
I think freeman and the games he has represented have brought more to gaming than link ever has. Link / Zelda is great but not on the same level as Half Life series and Freeman. Doesn't look like hes going to get this one though. He would have never beat Mario anyway.

Uh. no. While I do like HL2 and did vote for Freeman in this particular case, what Zelda has done for gaming was ground breaking. Pretty much all the zelda games are classics.
 
Yeah, if you like RPGs (which I like better than FPS) then Zelda was definitely a groundbreaker for the RPG world. Still yet, Gordon is cooler, wished he would have made it.
 
This one is tough, but just as characters by themselves Freeman is way better than link.

There is just no way Gordon will beat Link. No way. I can't even believe Gordon Freeman is more popular than Solid Snake. Don't get me wrong, I voted for Freeman, but if I have to choose between Freeman and Link, I think I have to go with Link. Ultimately I think it will be Samus and Link and Link will win. I don't think Mario will beat Samus because of the hardcore nature of the poll participants.

Why is Freeman even an option? He's barely even a character; he never speaks, you only seem him on the box art, he never conveys any sort of emotion. He would be the most boring person to ever have any sort of interaction with. He is no different than the Space Marine in any of the Doom games. He is the epitome of generic FPS characters.
