Looking to upgrade my Korean 1440p monitor found here https://www.overclock.net/threads/o...ee-overclock-able-matte-1440p-ah-ips.1555354/

Would modern 1440p monitors offer any improved visuals or would I need to jump up to 4k for a noticeable difference? Any recommendations? I'm hoping to stay around $300 but don't mind spending a bit more if it's a good value.

I'm an old school low HZ gamer if that helps. 60, 75, 100, 120, 144, 240hz all feel the same to these old eyes lol.

Thanks for any input! I've looked over all the typical "best monitor for XXX" guides, but don't trust any of them to not be paid shills anymore.

Get the Dell 34 OLED for a meaningful upgrade in PQ. IPS tech is still mostly the same and can't do proper HDR. If you want a big size upgrade there 38" wide screen options that will nearly double your real-estate.

Look on slickdeals, there are occasionally 4k60 ips 32" monitors available for $300ish. Just gotta be patient.

Funny you should mention that since the recent slickdeals are what got me started with the upgrade itch lol (and my failing DP to DL-DVI adapter). I was tempted to pickup the HP X27q but wasn't sure if it would be an upgrade from my current one.

Now I'm considering the LG 32UL500-W

I ended up picking up a LG 32UN550-W from Microcenter.

I'm happy with the monitor but honestly thought I would see a bigger visual improvement going to 4k. Cyberpunk doesn't really look any different to me, and now I can't just set everything to ultra anymore :ROFLMAO:
