Well Kyle, if you were wondering if there was any demand for the return of GenMay, this is one of the fastest growing threads lately on this board.

That may be good or bad. You certainly seem to be in a better mood these days than near the end of the GenMay era. I'd hate to see that go, but I also miss the good old days.

And I can't believe no one has mentioned Mr. [H]andlebars!

Personally I never found the other places to be worth my time, always stayed near the [H] just didn't post........please kyle bring back the GM, for all us old timers trying to relive the glory years. don't make me get my walker out.

I remember a GenMay thread I wrote in 2002 about a study that was done that said that General Mayhem was responsible for $325,00,000 worth of lost productivity at work.

when my wife was in labor (at home) i was posting updates on genmay. its like family, would be very cool if it came back.
 
Kidane wasn't you banned from Genmay a few months back? I do surf genmay from time to time when I am really bored, or when hardforums are down for days at a time!

I agree, but I'd still like to speak my mind. Not everyone knows what's going on there, and I can't post about it (how convienient for them). You don't know how many times I've seen Face or M|22 lie, and wanted to correct them, but I can't. :(
 
yeah the other genmay has definately changed a lot from its spawner. i would love to see the good olde genmay back; the new one is fun for a while, but gets tiring eventually :)

This general mayhem will be good for this site's audiance. This is the first time iv'e posted in these forums since after m was created and i no longer know alot of these people here, but i'm sure alot of them know eachother and could use a general mayhem section to know eachother better, and to talk about something other than what the designated forums specify. The new general mayhem won't be like 2 years ago, which as far as i can tell is exactly what kyle is counting on

Can you let us in at all on your thought process on this? What are you testing? What is going to push you one way or another? Is this something that will be decided today or in a month?

Holy old time members. Names I didnt think I would ever see at the [H] again.

I would love to see Gneral Mayhem return to the [H] but I also dont want to see the forum drama between the here and the other forum. Kidane as much as I love the drama I dont think this is where it needs to be...EVAR. Would hate to see [H] forums fall as low as the mentality at [M] most times.
 
there are many of us looking back to the "good ol' days", hehe... would be nice to see general mayhem return, even with new rules and such. the new genmay just isn't the same.

I'm a 15k on Gen[M]ay so I wasn't around at all during the old days but I would definatley post over here if it was re-created at the [H].
 
Why not create a mod group and toss in the old timers that your gut says you can trust, give it a week or so and see how it pans out.
 
I say gut needs to say yes. However it needs to be clear at the start that bygones are bygones and not cross discuss the forums. No reason for any more bad blood from either side.

There will be no Genmay.com bashing or badmouthing. You will not stay here talking trash about any other forum. No exceptions.

Most of the old mods are still here......fugu, Lethal and I all were old GM moderators, so we still remember the drill....we may be in wheelchairs and walkers, but we still remember how it works :p

I'm all for General Mayhem coming back, same with WLWC. The problem with both of those sub-forums was the need for over moderation. If it/they come back I wouldn't mind seeing a heavier ban stick wielded.

I think that a few ass hats ruined otherwise fun forums for the rest of us. If they got IDed and banned, it would be less stress of the mods/admins. After all it's usually the same people that spill beer/break shit at parties. After you weed out those (yes a continuous process with open registration) everything else is an acceptable mistake by responsible people.

Kyle, may the man himself bless your soul should you throw the switch. :D

I was in a wheelchair back then, still am now. I miss the old genmay. But as it's been said it's gone. What I do miss is an off topic section here. Unless you have a hardware bit of information there's no reason to post here really.

I feel all elite and such, I was here for the old genmay. I'm not normally one to wave flags, but I do have a little pride for my registration date. It's a sin, am I going to hell?
