Hey,

After logging on this morning, I noticed that General Mayhem is no longer a forum, or that I no longer have access. Is it just me? I havn't posted anything in there that shouldn't have been, infact havn't posted in there at all the past few days..

Any ideas?

Sorry, but you are wrong. :)

I seem to remember purchasing a lifetime subscription - I could be wrong.

Yeh same here with me.

Although I know I paid for a lifetime. I should be able to find the email to prove it too.

Not that I don't want to donate to the [H]

Not according to the records:

Off Topic Subscription - 1 Year MixPix 06-10-2004 Disabled

If you have a receipt showing lifetime, please forward it to kyle@hardocp.com

when does mine run out?
Go to your user cp, look in the left column towards the bottom and you should see a 'paid subscriptions' link. That will tell you when it expires.

don't see it

You should have a column of links on the left side of the screen. It is the second link from the bottom, under 'miscellaneous'. Unless your user cp is different than mine.

Odd...it seems you don't have one, but you are able to post in genmay...for me it says when the subscription expires at the top of that page above 'available subscriptions.'

The guys that do not show subscription dates are the ones that I entered in by hand, so they did not go through the same verification system as the ones who paid.

why is the lifetime sub say 30 years?

I hope I have more that 30 years left in me..

That is when Kyle plans on selling HardOCP to TomsHardware lol. Just kidding. Most lifetime subscriptions aren't true lifetime subs. They usually last between 25 to 50 years. Or it could be a limitation of the software Kyle uses for the forums.

I think that the vBull forum software limits 'lifetime' to 30 years. It's a moot point since no one knows the future of the internet in 30 years, so why worry. I think $15 bucks for a 30 year subscription is sufficient in any case...you certainly got your money's worth.

Now I remember. I did purchace a year subscription so that I would make a yearly donation to the [H].

Should have checked my records first... shame on me.

And we appreciate that! Thanks for the support bro.

Kind of off topic, but related -

- How many people are subscribed to genmay?

I dont rememberf off hand, but I think only around 500.

As a shameless plug, its certainly worth the coin. Theres alot of us in there, and we usually have a few good discussions going every day. genmay is a lil more relaxed, so everyone has a good time. :)

Same thing here. And I don't have the money to plunk down for a lifetime subscription anyway.

I do wish it would send a private message or something when the subscription is about to run out. I knew mine was running out in June but I thought I had a few more days before it did. I checked it on the day it ran out. Luckily I had $6 left open on my credit card. $5 of it went to renew my subscription.

I purchased a 1 year subscription a short while back just to check out Genmay. I wanted to post dammit !! .. :p And for support ;).

I just purchased a life time subscription.

Genmay is the best part of this whole forum. We can discuss anything.

Well when my debit card comes I will check the damage to my account due to the new PC and see if I can gather up 15 bucks. :)

Kyle, will you accept a money order? If you give me an adress (PM me or email me) I'll send you an MO. also PM me the cost for the subscriptions, incase they changed..

Wow.. I remember Genmay...

I thought it got annihilated off of the hardforums something like 3 years ago because of th eload it placed on the server... I had no idea it was back

It's a cool place....has to be, all of the mods and admins hang there and you get to see them make asses of themselves :p

Subscription to GenMay is $5 a year or $15 for a lifetime subscription. It is basically a filter to discourage the mischievious and irritating elements from spamming the board with garbage.....works quite well we think

er is that the actual site to general mayhem or is it a CLONE?

Long story. The original [H] Genmay was closed down. Some of the original members created genmay.com. Then Kyle re-introduced Genmay into the [H] as a paid area (for new members) with stricter guidelines. Far too much silliness at that genmay.com IMO.

For anyone on the fence about subscribing, it's a fun and casual corner to kick back and have some intelligent off-topic discussions, debate in the Soapbox, or just check out whacky and fun stuff posted in Web Linkage Worth Clicking. :)
