Geforce 310 Spotted?

That is probably another one of the low-end GPUs that NVidia makes for Macs and other OEM PCs. It's definitely nothing special; only 16 cores, low clocks, 512MB DDR2. Not very good at all.

Love the 1984 reference. Otherwise, I think he is being unduly harsh. It's not like NVidia's naming shenanigans are anything new.

Nvidia pissing me off, they better have it by February or else im getting a 5870/5970

And in spite of all this, Nvidia will manage to swindle many uninformed consumers.

Well, the layout is different.
In the technical specs it says

I will remember that. Forever.

OMGF!!11 Lozzenges! It is a ctually there... (you do have to go to the Germanian verison though)

Some color... :

I thought the 210 was for OEM, why are they even renaming them if they can't use the bigger number = better trick.

This release only makes sense if one thing is true. Derivatives of Fermi are a loooooong way off. Tarnishing the series name brand by mixing them with older technology offerings is not a good marketing strategy, but it makes sense if they have nothing else to sell.

This is hilarious:

Well since it's OEM only that would be completely false. They're probably doing that so that when the rest of the 300 series cards come out they can release an entire series to the consumer market.

Then why not do it when the real 300's are out, instead of having one rebranded 200 as a faux 300 then?

I thought they were going to brand Fermi GF100 or something, not GT300.

Mx 440 again:rolleyes: they'll never learn:D

Feel lucky, I still got a hunk of a laptop called a Dell C840, with it's wonder-tastic MX440.... Go.

Yep, the mobile version of a card that cost 1600(Intel Graphics) -->2000usd (nVidia Graphics).

I stupidly believed, at the time, the most expensive was the best:mad:.

While I still bought nVidia products after that, it was the first straw.

wait, do you mean the cost of the laptop went up $400, or that the card itself was $2k?

I'm assuming the former, but the meaning is not quite clear to me - could be the long hours.

The card option cost me +400USD, at the time.
Hugely expensive for a rather worthless card (vastly better then Intel graphics, but that's not even a conparison).

Measure twice, cut once.
Research before you buy. Less buyer's remorse that way.
