I work as IT Manager in an office downtown Chicago. The bosses are never around since this is a project management company. They're always on client sites all over the world. But I don't want to abuse their trust in me.

I'm sure there are many employees in this company that games on their computer since it's usually their only computer when they're out of town on a job. I leave all company computer "open" to allow them to install what they want as long as they do not remove company software.
 
No time here... I am IT for the state (project manager) and if I am not sitting in a meeting I am writing up SOP Manuals or doing Project information so really don't have the time to. Just randomly visit here when I need to think a minute about what I am working on.
 
Flash games when stuffs compiling. Not like I can do anything during that time anyway =P

Although I do have my gaming laptop always with me, I'm way too lazy to set it up at work =D
 
I game at work all the time cause I work from home, my boss is 2,000 miles away and I get paid for it. :D Salary rocks
 
never played games at work, i work in IT also.. ive just never been compelled to do so, some web browsing is a different story but i keep all my gaming at home
 
Neeoooooppee. Never. They have two PS2s in our break area, but with 15 min breaks, who has the time?
 
Work alone at night, Dell m90 w/ 2500m Quadro, Stalker and COD 1 + expansion, and COD 2. Also Far Cry1. Lots of Blitzkrieg and expansions.
 
I have Fallout 2 installed on one of the machines at work (thanks GOG), but the owner's more than okay with it. What's nice is that we're still on CRTs down here, so these old games look especially good in comparison to how they look on my LCD at home.

I don't usually get much time to play though. No big thing.
 
I work at a pc store so I answered yes. We have a demo machine running a bunch of games for people to try and when it gets slow at night we can use it to play for a bit. I also have my laptop and usually game while on lunch.
 
Nope, I'm usually busy as hell during the day running around making sure all my workers are doing what's expected of them and doing shit loads of paper work. I wish I had time, but I post around 119hrs every two weeks to keep things operating.

I'm not IT, on occasion though... I'm a systems coordinator / supervisor.
 
I tried it once along time ago...lol playing TFC in software mode wasnt exactly ideal.

Now a days our computers are so locked down im lucky to even get to the [H]....i'd say 90% of the internet is blocked from me. Ahh the good ole days where I could search google and actually get to the site I wanted. Dam proxy server!
 
When I need a diversion from the job I prefer things that don't tax my brain too much like answer on-line poll questions.
 
We used to, but not in a long time. We have threatened to get good lan game going again, but never have.
 
When I bring my work pc in to do some testing i will play for an hour during my break, other then that no.

4-6hours of gaming or more out of a 9.5 hour day, FPS (COD series and BF series) and MMOs (LOTRO), on my personal notebook and using my own personal internet connection (AT&T unlimited data, before they capped it). No one cares as long as long as I show some discretion, trying to get them to spring for a privacy filter.
 
I voted no, because I don't at my current job. At my last job a coworker and I used to play WOW at lunch time on our laptops. That was great. The place I'm working at now is too "formal" for such a thing to be condoned... :(

I'm a firm believer of "there's always something to do." I also look at it this way; if you're playing games while "on the clock" then you're stealing from the company.
 
Well I work from home so when I'm not too busy I do play games on occasion.
 
Well technically I dont game during the work hours but I come in during the weekend to game sometimes on my research pc. Btw since I work as an intern for a dept on campus dont have to walk very far. Crysis looks pretty damn good on a 22in with q6600 at 3.2 and an 8800 ultra :)

I can understand that from a working/business point of view. But I have a feeling you carry that "always something to do" with you outside the office.

I have this to say in response:

There may always be something to, but you don't always have to be doing something.

I'm a IT Tech at my 2 local stores...part time during holidays...I voted yes. Coz once I get the job done...we'll have a little session of online gaming with the owners or just online. COD4, CS, or a little story mode of Pro Street or COD4. I mean, hey! everyone loves to see me own some noobs and pwn ass:p
 
I usually get in a couple of hours a day. Trying to fill 28 days of 12 hrs/day gets kind of tough. As we're fond of saying "If you see me running around with tools while we're diving, shit's gotten sideways". We work hard doing preventative maintenance during down times so we don't end up having to fix stuff when we're diving. Nothing like having a $200,000/day derrick/pipelay barge waiting on you to "Fix your shit".

And it's mostly FPSs, but Civ IV sure can soak up some serous hours.
 
I can play flash games, but they get blocked pretty quickly. I was rocking fantastic contraption for a few months before it got blocked, now I am bored as hell.

I work at a call center, and we are only as busy as the corporate travelers we service.
 
I get to play games at work but not PC games. I play my Xbox 360 at work. If I had a gaming laptop I'd probably bring that but I don't. I work 3rd shift front desk at a hotel and I have less than 2 hours or work to do everynight. Playing 360 keeps me awake... hehe My manager and boss know about it and they don't care as long as I don't ignore any customers or get my paper work done.
 
Co-Worker and I play during lunch in the IT conference room. Been Street Fighter 3 lately - brought in the Dreamcast to work.

I also play Quake 3 at work, but that's pretty rare. Only if I'm working after hours or on a weekend and I'm waiting for a specific time/need to pass time.
