It's just like if you made a painting or something. You get one sale. That's it. It's going to be curculating for a long time and you are not entitled to those transactions. Make some new shit and sell some more shit and shut the fuck up... Easy as that.
Going to play devils advocate here:
When you make a painting/book/traditional work (even movies/music) you don't have to continue to support that piece of work. That painting you refer to doesn't need additional patches or updates to maybe fix something found after sale/release, you also don't have to pay for additional back-end (servers for multiplayer for instance). That's where your argument falls apart.
