I picked up a couple of Galaxy video cards recently and the aggravation to just register the cards and sign up for the MIR is ridiculous. They make you jump through as many hoops as possible. My last full RMA with sapphire was less of a hassle. This company is shady. I hope that I never have to do an rma with these guys. I'll never buy another product from them.

Just for future reference, no swearing in thread titles. A mod will change it, or lock your thread.

Many companies have horrible MIR systems. Corsair and Patriot are the only companies that were easy to deal with in my experience.

Patriot just switched to 4myrebates, they will deny it for not putting your middle initial on the return address of the envelope, just happened to me.

Yea, I love my Corsair products but I never got my two rebates for my Ram and PSU or my Sapphire for that matter. It was back in March/April and I did get confirmation from Corsair a month or two after I had sent them in that they had received the information but still haven't seen anything. Gave up on getting it long time ago, just on my next purchases I won't give any attention to a product based on wether it has a rebate or not.

Yeah, rebates suck and I sort of knew that going in. What worries me the most is the registration issues since I think that galaxy requires you to register the card within 30 days for warranty. If so they're clearly making things as difficult as possible to try and dodge service.

Holy shit. That is awesome! I am sure that company has great conversations with happy customers.

I had no issues with my MIR for my 480 GTX SOC from Galaxy btw. Sorry for the trouble.

So does EVGA (for the longer warranty instead of the standard 1 year warranty) and I'm guessing others.

Is this the first videocard you ever bought?

No, shit I've owned several Evga cards. Its the actual registration process, read what I said. Its a much larger pita than Evga's. Oh, and with Sapphire I didn't even need to do that. Most companies don't require registration. Do some research before trying to troll. Go fucking navigate their website and setup an account to see what I'm talking about.

So what about the process made it so difficult? And what hoops did you have to jump through for the rebate?

Its not like you are getting charged by the word. Don't keep us in suspense.

Read my fucking post above. Go navigate the website yourself.

You just made my ignore list. :)

Your post history is full of nothing but douchey trolling so its not like I'll be missing anything.

DUrr! I gets mad cause i'm unable to cum-municate efektivly.

I think they require me to register within 30 days but i'm not sure. But I am sure they blow!

I could tell u why they blow but its a secret (probably involved hoops)!

good thing I'm on your ignore list cause you sound like a winner

I cannot agree more.

I regularily shop @ NCIX and completely ignore the MIR's. I also find it shady when retailers advertise their price inclusive of the MIR, knowing full well the garbage practices that go along with MIR, to be really lame.

To the OP, i can only advise that you don't expect anything when doing MIR's, or simply just don't figure them into your cost of purchase and not bother sending them in.

Yeah, I really didn't even expect to follow through with the mir. I got the cards at a decent price so as the mir would only be an added bonus. The fact that the rma tracking system that they sent me via email is just a dead link doesn't give me much confidence. :p

I got my rebate from Sapphire when I bought my video card but there were so many forms to fill out and boxes to check and everything that it was ridiculous. You had to print out the address, it would be disqualified if you printed the address on there. You had to put it in a certain spot, you had to sign 30 differnt things and initial a couple. You had to register on 2 different places online. If you missed ANY of these things, your rebate was immediately disqualified. It also took 3 months for them to finally get it to me but at least I got it.

This is why i NEVER Deal with MIR... and why i have never bought anything off of TigerDirect.

I've been lucky with most rebates, but I have had some bad experiences. Most recently Thermaltake sent my rebate back return to sender so that by the time I remailed it the postmark wasn't within the date range of the MIR rules.

Did you make a copy of the envelope when they sent it back?

Ask Thermaltake to pay your claim anyways (don't bother with the rebate processor if there was one) after you explain the situation. Try contacting the original vendor also and tell them about it.

Some unlegal online shop often sell the goods like this, should find a famous one with a good quality insurance and fine after-sell service such as amazon, newegg etc, most of the goods sell in that site are from the official channels with a good reputation....

u what was so hard about it? I registered my card no problem. I also had no trouble sending off and receiving my $50 rebate. it went to the same rebate warehouse as my MSI rebate went to and I had no issue with it either.

dude A-FUCKING-MEN. i never have bought from tigerdirect either and probably never will as long as they have the bullshit rebates. rebates sucks big balls. when buying a product i never look at the rebates just the instant discount of the product. and if its big enough then i will consider filling out the forms. tigerdirect seems like they are the most rebated company out there.

Anything I buy that has a MIR I just plan on not getting it and consider the purchase price what I am going to pay. If I get the MIR great.. if not great. If two cards are 299 and one has a MIR to make it 249.99 I just get the card I like and not let the MIR stear me. Galaxy isnt hte only company with crappy MIR. I won't hold it that against them. Now if they had crappy RMA that would be another story.

What is ridiculous is basing the quality of a company on MIR and registration... I have had a number of companies with PITA MIR and registration systems that had great performance, stability, and customer service. I would much rather them put money into those areas than in MIR and registration.

Wat

I've done about twenty (20) MIRs or so and I think 95% if not 100% of them have been honored.
I've done MIRs with Antec, Asus, CoolerMaster, Corsair, Enermax, HIS, OCZ, Samsung, Thermaltake, Zotac, etc..

I had to RMA both my GTX 580's and I didn't have any problems with them. As easy as any other RMA I've ever done.

Thats good to know, thanks.

Its mostly that I didn't see an easy way to tie more than one video card to the account. If you click on the "my account" or whatever it was called there was only a spot to list the one card. One other thing that I thought was odd is that when you list the purchase date they mention something about an invoice but there is no place to upload it like with Evga. IDK maybe they just ask for that if you should ever need an RMA. The website isn't very well laid out. IDK maybe you don't even need to register the cards for service.

I have only registered one card with them, so I am not sure how they handle the multiple cards. However, usually when they ask for an invoice, you mail a pdf to them. I used to have to do that with EVGA back in the day until they added a spot to put it into your account.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to assume the OP is just in a bad mood or something. I got my rebate for my Galaxy GTX 560 ti just fine. I rarely buy things with MIR's though. I don't want to chance having to fight them for a rebate. I always try and find out where in the US the employees of a given company or their rebate processor are so that, if necessary, I can file suit in small claims court to get a rebate they denied, plus have them cover any costs associated with me getting them to pay. I'm sort of the worst nightmare for a company if they try to deny my rebate.

I have yet to this day get a single MIR back. In fact I stopped even bothering or factoring them in to price. (from any company)

Sorry, but this had me ROFL!

But I agree with ignoring rebates as part of my final price. If I want to buy something I always look at the price before rebate and consider that my cost. Filling out forms, waiting for someone to maybe send me a check after I forgot about it (or maybe not at all)...... F that.

I must be lucky because I have gotten almost every rebate I bothered to apply for. I had an Antec rebate on a SOLO case take 6 months many years ago but most of them have been hassle free.

You're doing it wrong.

I've never not received a MIR back. Usually they do take forever but I've always gotten them back.

I can assure you all that Galaxy wants you guys to get every rebate you're owed on time, every time. If anyone ever has difficulties with a rebate, please pm me right away and I will make absolutely sure you get it.

As for the registration system, we've been listening to all the feedback we've gotten from our customers and are actually in the process this very moment of making big changes and upgrades to the system to make it simpler and easier to use. Just the same as rebates or anything, I'm always happy to help out answer any questions related to registration as well.

If you guys ever run into a problem or have ideas for ways we can improve our website, support system, or anyhting else, I urge you to let me know so we can keep continually improving.

You know what? Thank you for coming in here and helping people from time to time. I have noticed and am impressed. You do a great service to your company by doing it. A year ago I may never have considered Galaxy as a company I would purchase from but now I am taking a serious look at you guys for my upcoming 680gtx purchase.

Thanks for the kind words. This is exactly why I'm here. No company can make a product that never fails or provide service without ever making a mistake, so I feel that it's the extra effort we put in to make it right that sets us apart from others.

This, and the feedback we get from everyone on the Hard Forums is invaluable. You guys' discussions, input, suggestions, and even speculations tell us what to make, what to change, and what we can do better, and we thank you all for that.

Yeah, that's it, I've done EVERY single rebate form I filled out wrong. Half of them are easy as pie, trust me, that is NOT the problem.

Again, nothing to do with Galaxy, I have never sent them a rebate.
