32GB onboard minimum only really started this winter.
Notice I said "in the US."
Note 3 came standard with 32GBs in the US on all carriers. Go on Swappa and try to find a 16GB Note 3 on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mo.
The One M7 and G2 that came out in 2012 to compete with the GS4 had 32GBs minimum (again - in the US at least) too. The following year, the One M8, Z2, and G3 had 32GBs minimum as well and even supported SD card slots. Pretty much everything late last year and this year had had it, but Samsung is seemingly the only big player that cut SD card support, while HTC, Sony, LG, and even Moto are putting them in their flagships this year.
