FX55 for $149.99

It says FX55BN.
It is SD core.
the highest clock you will see is around 2.9~3ghz and +/- 200~300mhz on single stage.
Think about how DCs these days overclock. They overclock so good that
it destroyed purpose of using single core for higher speed.
The only benefit you will get is the unlocked multiplier which I think is pretty good with BH-5 type memory. I'd rather find a cheap dual core than get an outdated single core.
Also you have to realize they come in OEM condition with no warrenty what so ever.

I'd rather buy a 3800+ for 99 bucks and oc it past fx speeds.

Thats if your buying for keeps

ok, but i can overclock the fx55 past its own speed too
I'll see how these overclock, if not like all of use we're probably just going to resell them.
Anyways wouldn't that require like .2V more?

uh no. I use stock voltage only and have gotten 400mhz outa my 3500+ rig (2.62 ghz stable)

My 3000+ is @ 2.3 stock

My main rig is an x2 4600 and gets a good 350 mhz or so without any voltage change.

You can oc anything you want past fx speeds with the right tools so whats your point?

Than an FX will overclock also, and much better due to it's unlocked multi.

Multiplier has nothing to do with higher frequency(MAY BE only a little when it comes combination of multi and FSB).
Having unlocked multiplier just means it has higher quality.
For example you get to run max cpu frequency speed @ lowest ram timing possible.
I have no idea what stepping/week they'll come with but the highest you can expect on air is 3GHz. That's the highest I got with an FX-55 0516WPMW handpicked about a year ago.

what about water
;)

I was going to get one until I saw it was a single core. Sorry, but 300-500mhz doesn't mean very much in comparison to a dual core for my needs. :(

I ordered one but I am deciding to stick with my x2 3800. Anyone who eants to buy it from me pm me.

Oh wait, it *is* single core.
My x2 3800 is running at 2700mhz, no single 3000mhz can keep up with that.

(and I got it from dell for $250 over six months ago ;) )

Uhh what?
since when does 2.7 > 3.0?????

To stay on topic, did anyone call to confirm this deal is dead?

Wow. I am feeling bad for the people who bought this processor for $1000.00 :(

Few years back.. ;)
In this field you have to expect something like this to happen, especially if you buy the best available hardware.

I feel bad when I purchased a 90mhz computer 11 years ago for thousands of dollars.

It certainly is a good deal if you consider how much this CPU cost a year back.
But calm down and think of NOW. Think about performance per dollar.
You will see why I said you're better off /w 3800+ or even Conroe 6300.

i dont see anything, page aint loading right...HALP

unless i am waaay too late for this

I called asking about my tracking number. Apparently they received some 11k inquiries over the weekend, so they're trying to fill as many as they can.

Is this like a mom & pop operation?

Could be!

Deal is dead...meh, it would be a downgrade from my X2 4400+ anyway. Not worth going back to single core for an unlocked multiplier.
