Lol! Yeah it has been out for some time now. Wouldn't recommend wasting your money on it, either.

FX9590 got a 2nd price cut yesterday.

what the new price on the fx9590
im not worried about cooling I have phase- change cooling freon -50c

thanks!

ps...I have a brand new in the box never opened, with a 2 year warranty no questions asked from newegg......FX-8350 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition im selling it email me

Why waste your money when you haven't even tried overclocking the 8350? Your 8350 is the exact same chip as the 9590 minus the factory overclock. I have yet to see an 8350/8320 that couldn't hit 4.7 GHz at 1.45v. You should be able to take it up to 5GHz with your phase change cooling.

If you're going to spend that kind of money on a CPU get one of the new 6-core Ivy Bridge E chips. I love AMD, but they're gouging with the 9590. It only does 5GHz on two cores and even at that speed they can't really compete with Intel's top-end.

The 9590 is the best 8350 chips made, so a 9590 will OC higher then a 8350.

Yeah, it probably will. But when that chip is already pushing 5GHz what kind of headroom is there to go higher?

The point is at the cost of the 9590 being ridiculous. Bang for your buck you're better off going with a 8350, overclocking it as high as you can get it, or just going the way of a six-core Intel.

With a good setup you could probably get 6Ghz stable.

To people who spend over $1000 on their cooling set up what is an extra $100 to go from a 8350 to a 9590?

Where are you getting just an extra $100 from an 8350 to a 9590? Maybe getting the 9590 mixed up with the 9370?

Per Newegg:
9590 - $699.99
9370 - $299.99
8350 - $199.99

If someone spends ~$300 on a CPU I don't know that they'll be spending a "G" on a cooling setup... Which I also think is ridiculous, but that's neither here nor there as that's just my opinion.

The 9590 doesn't have much OC headroom at all. I haven't seen people taking them that high above 5GHz. Pretty much the same cut-off point as the normal FX 83xx chips. Can't see any justification for getting the 9590.

Still wondering what mobos support this chip and why is it this expensive for like you guys have said a 8350 on steroids  Do you need a bios update to support this Cpu?

that's correct a few hundred more is not that big of a deal to get the best as fast as possible and keep it a few years

Sorry assumed US prices would be similar to other countries. Don't know why the 9590 is so much more in the US.

This. They don't overclock any higher than the usual 8350. They're the exact same freaking chip, difference being out the box clock speeds (4.7ghz, 5.0ghz turbo).

Yet to see anyone try overclocking them with a proper cooling set up.

If you want the best possible get a hex-core i7...as much as I love competition I think we all agree that nothing AMD makes can touch Ivy Bridge E.

thanks for the heads up, that has nothing to do with your post in this thread. so go back to your Intel forum and brag how you rule.

YOUR RIGHT!

im going to order my Asus Crosshair5 Z board and hook up my 8350.

I will wait for price drop on 9590 or by then maybe the newer AMD cpu.
I have 2 8350's I had 1rocking in my Phase.Change cooling about 5.5GHZ....
6 cores were working, I had my Crosshair4 Extreme with the 8350 when the 8350s 1st came out, it was multiplier problems and CrossHair4 Extreme boards and Bios not new enough out at that time....I now have the fix for all 8cores to open at 5.5ghz but I need to be on 990chipset

........Thanks for getting my Attention DeathFromBelow

well cousin looks like your running some good parts there, in fact you might be going too fast.;)
just ordered my CHV-Z board from newegg I will put my newer FX8350 in it and hot rod it to the max and repost cpuz.....see ya

EagleOne..You should give the 8350 to your cousin and buy a new MoBo for him..and of course a new case..Like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139005

Let him test it out and get back to you about it. Probably save you some bucks in the long run.
Of course you would feel really good about giving.....Xmas

ebduncan:
thanks very very cool rankings there, I will be right along side of them them soon.
happy I saw this keep up the good work.

I don't think he was bragging how he/Intel rules... And going back to the pricing I did between the 4770k, and the AMD counterparts - Specifically looking at AMD's best offering costing $700, why wouldn't you recommend going the way of Intel over AMD at that price range?

FX9590 got a 2nd price cut yesterday.

Thank you for the heads up. I checked the prices at work and the 9370 is on for $250 and the 9590 for $400. Pretty tempting for the 9370 but I need a new monitor more than a CPU upgrade.

Sorry bwang, read your post wrong  Just seems there is always someone who has to say Intel is better then AMD. I think most people already know Intel is faster.

not bragging just showing what my 1100T can do with excellent SS cooling 2012
crosshair4 Extreme board.

with my new crosshair5-Z board and my 8350, like you guys are saying screw the 9590, I should be all the time cruzing at 5.5ghz or maybe 6ghz with my 8350.

If the 9590 used steamroller cores, or even had more cahce or enhanced modules, it might be worth it, but really it's just a factory OC'd 8350...

People would've bought the shit out of the 9590 if it had Steamroller cores in it. Jeez, I don't know why AMD even bothered with the "super-Vishera" chips. Just why... Most people buying an unlocked octocore would be OC'ing it anyway, so what's the point?

@EagleOne

5.0 Ghz @ 1.45v with a Thuban hexacore?? Dude, high-fucking-five! I've never seen that done before. That's awesome!

IT is insanely impressive, and at that speed it will own the older Intel Hexcores (970, 980,990) and be faster then the 3770/4770Ks (based on their average o/c)...Thurban's have a higher IPC then the later replacements, so that adds in some additional performance as well...I always wanted a SS Phase setup, but never got around to getting one..I wish OCZ had followed through with their $300 complete unit that was just as good as the 3X more costly VaporChill unit..

Thanks NaroonGTX
it rocks my 1100T, seems like if you have AMD and you want to go FAST you need COOLING once you go single stage-phase.change cooling which I had custom built by "JIN" a really famous phase change builder long ago....these AMD Cpu's can really go super fast and incredibly stable at least mine has always been perfect.......ya dude I have money to play with, I have been out for a while on these fourm sites doing other things, its fun to be back on AMD sites......

just hook up my new crosshair5-Z board and new 8350....
the bios is stock with board 1302......
I know im at 6cores.....it's really fast...
it's like 45% faster than my crosshair4 extreme and 1100T....im impressed:cool:

Looks like FX 9590 is reduced to 389 finally on newegg.

watercooled edition now 878 (obviously crazy)

They likely were banking on the brand recognition from the olden FX days when they actually had a good product, though the $1000 then was probably still way too high, but at least it was faster than the competition, unlike this thingy they put out.

Is steamroller even coming out? Or did it get steamrolled into oblivion?

Yeah, the original FX line was actually faster than the competition, so the prices (while still ridiculously high) at least made sense.

Steamroller will be in Kaveri (upcoming Socket FM2+ APU) and the Berlin APU for servers. We don't know if there will be any Steamroller chips that have 3 or 4 modules on them yet.

I'm actually really excited for Steamroller, despite the delays. I've got my 2p 6300 running smoothly and want to get back to the AMD side of things again. I'm rooting for the Red team, though I know it'll probably not be what we expect.
