FX-57 Why Not Faster?

oh right. i wonder if those will prove to be better overclockers? i doubt it though...

in retrospect, they might be. think of this: a SD that can pull 57 speeds but is binned a 3500+ becuase a bit of its cache is messed up... yummy
cool.gif
Would most likely be binned as a 3800+

All is not set..... until May 8th (with overnite shipping) when we can see how fx55 90nm can scale with xtreme cooling and high voltage :D

wrong. the 3800+ is venice, and there is not (well, not yet at least) an E4 3800+
lol. just wait til they are officially released in great quantities lol. Im sure the ones with broken caches may end up in some 3800+'s

doubt it. 3800+ gets teh creme of the crop venice cores, not the broken san diego cores.

*gasp!*
you took them all, didn't you cent? the shame :p :D

j/k
hehe, i think that explains why there were quite a few 3500+ clawhammers that clock quite well though, even if it's been said before. the topic deserves revisiting. ;)

Glad to see you jumped from one thread to another :D

And yea, those 3500+ Claw's were something else. Also, something else I've been wondering....are the Venice/San Deigo SOI or SSOI?

hey guys, whats going on in this thread?

anyway, the reason why the fx57 isnt faster is, it doesnt need to be.. its plenty fast for everything thats going to be out when it is released

haha, did you even read it?

Apparently not....because we all know that's what thread's aren't here for or anything. *spares a rolleyes*

Either way, it's been fun eclipse and lith, but I should have been asleep a few hours ago...but certain situations diddn't allow me to get my rest.

hahaha, same. 2:00am here. fortunatly i don't have class till 12 on fridays, so it works out well.

but yes, tonight was fun. go get your rest :D

You have a 3-stage?

nah, i'm pretty sure it's single.. i recall him saying something about how load at extreme voltages brings temps above 0ºc

Well "extreme" cooling is a relative term. I doubt he'd be able to even beat FX-55 WR's with his single stage and FX-57.

Still workin on the cascade :D .....If everything going ok, then I xpected 57 to scale @ least to 3.6Ghz relatively stable ;) ....Then again the chip isnt here yet :p So up till now, everything is based on assumption.
