funny thing i'll be working for these guys this fall.... (briggs and straton) while i'm at college.
 
I know a guy who got a free seedling and just put it in a pot on his desk. He turned it into a little bonsai tree. Im gonna try that.Thanks for the linkage.

TTP you are the best. We just bought our new house and the one complaint we had is no shade in the back yard ;) The front yard has a couple of oaks, now the back can have one too..and I don't have to go deal with Earl May to get it. Win win situation! Thanks!
 
Thanks TTP, as always.

10 years ago my dad planted a baby pine in the backyard, its grown about 2 feet since then, and I'm sure this spruce will fit right in next to it and the other pines and maples.
 
i have a question...how is this tree delivered? does some guy from a nursery come over and drop it off or does the ups guy ship it? :confused:

Its a seedling, so really its not much more then a stick with some roots and about 8 leaves. I have seen plant shipped priority mail.
 
Hey, I've got a spot in the front yard where a tree was knocked down by Hurricane Isabel a year and a half ago just aching to have a new tree... hello, OAK.
 
Thanks for the linkage. Anyone know if these trees are any good? I've heard that they're delicious if you deep fry them.
 
Got mine in the mail today. Not counting the roots, the tree was a bit over a foot high. Now I just have to plant it.

I used to do bonsai from time to time when I was a kid. Thanks for the idea, and thanks TTP for the link! Can never have too many trees in this world :)
 
got mine yesterday...the desk thing sounds cool. Think I might try that too, at least till it gets too big
 
i got an Oak. Maybe in 20 years i'll have a place to build a treehouse for my grandkids XD

We'll I got my spruce today.....it's about 2ft tall and I will plant it later on today. Hopefully in a few yrs it will grow to a decent size and I can pull from it to create another. :) Should make a beautiful tree if I take good care of it.

I'll give it until the end of July, then if it is not here on August 2nd, then I will order a new one.

When I get it, I am not going to plant it in stupid Minnesota...I am going to take it with me to California.
