does Version 3.6.4 offer any cool features for members?

God I friggin love vBulletin. :)

Proud multiple vBulletin license owner since 2000ish.

Great job on getting the [H]ard|forums back up in less than a day guys, I was having serious withdrawals. :p

The only thing I would add is "quick post," like at Neowin. Other than that, I like it so far.

From what has been said in the past there's no plans for a quick post feature. Unless the upgrade changed things its not going to happen.

This is still not an option we want to enable as I think it encourages spam.

The new version also includes an Infraction System, a new tool for lethal (and other mods/admins), so better watch out guys. :D

Aww man, now I have to watch out ;)

Hehehe jk.

Lookin good. The multi quote is awesome.

Were there any performance upgrades or database optimizations?

It seems faster!

I don't have to divide by my Total PM amount by 200 anymore and do the % calculation in my head! Hell yes!

...multi-quote and "on-page" editing are nice as well. :)

Great, now i wont have to scroll a long way up to see the original post. Good stuff

Man I was going crazy yesterday without the [H]. Was a nice surprise to wake up to it being back online :)

Could any of you mods by chance enable the quick reply dialog at the bottom of the page like other forums use? You know, instead of having to click "post reply", then going into the next screen to type a response.

that was already discussed in this thread....

w1retap doesn't have time to go to a separate page to reply to a post. Nor does he have time to read this thread :D

Tis true.. I'm very busy. :D I just skimmed over, but must have missed it somehow. I wasn't really concerned anyway if it was already covered. I want a quick reply. :p

Now I'm off to Univ of Mich-Dearborn to setup the MPcon LAN Party. weeeeeeeeee.

I'm really liking the upgrades, mainly the edit box that pops up to do the editing without leaving the post. I'm not sure some of the extra options in the standard reply to post area will ever be used, but it's nice to have them.

Oh, and the "go to post" button is great too.

Cool stuff!

One thing I dont like is the new search. I like the simple one better, now you have to type in the picture pass phrase thingy. It looks like that is only for unregistered people, but still thats a lot of work just to search.

it keeps webcrawlers from slowing the site down.

though that tech is VERY VERY VERY easily bypassed right now.

Actually, to my knowledge, the CAPTCHA used in vBulletin 3.6.4 has not been broken yet. Earlier versions had issues, as do implementations from other vendors.

I agree on the speed increase. This is the fastest the site has felt ever for me :)

Also dont forget inline post editing :) One of my favorite features in the newer vB.

Also some of the mod functions work easier :p (I know from the other site I am a mod on).

Nice upgrade. The little space inbetween posts seems to be bothering me more now then it did before but I'm not sure if that wasn't already there before.

One nice feature is double clicking on the New Posts icon (ie the Gold Circle) on the forumhome page marks the forum as read.

Was my favourite feature when I upgraded to 3.6

It feels slower for me hahaha

I like being able to read other posts when EDITING your own posts.

Kyle, can you explain the "Infraction" system?

I've noticed that we can't tie hyperlinks to words anymore. Is this to keep people from linking to malicious sites and masking the clicky?
