using a xiggy dark knight, gskill ripjaw ram (2x2GB), and ga-p55-ud3r. HS can be installed any which way (couldn't find this info so i figured i'd post it).

using my HS to push hot air up to my giant ninehundred two top exhaust. my rear 120mm exhaust is now intake and rather than pushing hot hard drive into my case i am pulling it out with both 120mm up front. seems like the only downside at this point is i am only using one 120mm intake compared to the two 120mm and the big boy atop the ninehundred two for exhaust. doesn't look like a 120mm will fit on side window for an additional intake with the heatsink mounted the way it is.

~5C temp drop...not too shabby for moving a heatsink and flipping some fans around :D (also moved my gfx&sound cards closer to the PSU)

curious as to what everyone thinks about expelling the hard drive air (using both 120mm front intakes as exhausts) and any suggestions or improvements for intake as I am only currently using one 120mm

With only one intake, that's waaaay negative pressure. That means you'll be sucking air in any random cracks or holes in the case, meaning it's harder to filter all the incoming air, meaning more dust inside.

You may be able to use the bottom front fan as an intake without screwing up the airflow too bad. Sort of blowing in toward the slots, then swirling up and around and back out the top or front.
 
very good point...yea thats what im trying to figure out how to fix. i may leave the heat sink as is an flip all of the fans back around to see how much of a difference it really makes. the negative pressure is causing my only intake to humm much louder than before.

EDIT: I'm wondering what intaking on both fronts and the rear and exhausting out of the top would do

It looks like the top is a 200mm fan, which would have an area of pi * 100^2. The three 120mm fans would have a total area of pi * 60^2 * 3. That comes out to 10,000 vs. 10,800. Assuming they're all pushing the same amount of air per square mm of fan area (which very well might not be the case), it should be a pretty close match between the single top fan as exhaust and the three 120's as intakes.

With the front and back blowing at each other, you'll want to make sure you're not getting dead airflow spots. With the big fan on top and another lower one also blowing in, I doubt there'd be too much stagnant air, but it's something to keep in mind.
 
The next step is to remove the rear fan and its grill. There is no fan you could put there that would quietly intake for all those exhaust fans, so why not let Mother Nature do your work for you?

I love the idea of not running warm HD-heated air into the case. Kudos for you!
