Holy Moley!!! :eek::eek::eek:

Best of luck in the construction and godspeed in the deployment!!!:cool::cool:

Thanks guys! I was so happy to get in some packages today. I have the first two i7s and GTX 460s in front of me; the first two motherboards will get here tomorrow along with the GTX 240. I will sell off my AMD X6 rig next week after I hopefully go on a shopping spree tomorrow.

I can't wait to see how quickly you mow your way to the top with that setup! Congrats man, and i'm glad that you have joined our team.

Out of curiosity, where did you get your Coolermaster refurbished cases from?

very impressive.. wish that was a 1090T in your amd rig you are planning to sell otherwise id be all over it right now to help fund the farm..

Thanks guys! And no, I have nothing to hide in my room; I just felt bad because it's unorganized. I get more stuff around noon today at work, pics will be upped tonight.

damn! another mower! The top 10 is getting very hot. When I bring back stuff online I might not even make it there. o_o

btw there's cheap X58 motherboards in the DC FS forum

That is a sick setup man..If I didn't have such a nice stable o/c on my X6, I think it would be in the FS forum and I'd be sitting on an intel rig as well...

I got the first EVGA X58 SLI board in today; pics to come after work. ;) Still waiting for that PayPal payment so I can order the cases and coolers, and another i7.

That is a really old rat terrier, by the way.

Some people like to critique me for using EVGA parts when we're competing directly with them, but I like to think I'm using their own tech against them.

nah. evga makes legit hardware. it would be hard to avoid buying their products

Especially gpus, who else is there? XFX seems like they're moving firmly towards ATi now, BFG is on the way out, and all that's left is EVGA, a few motherboard companies, and some smaller companies.

I have been rather satisfied with my ASUS cards in the past, but it's true, they are one of the few ones left. I have opened and inspected my B-stock motherboard and GT 240; the GPU is fine but the motherboard has obviously had some capacitors replaced; there is a bit of left-over flux on the bottom of the board to indicate such a replacement. Hopefully everything works fine when I take it home.

I generally have good things to say about ASUS as well, although I have to say:

I owned two EVGA and one ASUS gtx275 for a while. The EVGA cards overclocked noticeably better than the ASUS.

I didn't know why until I inspected the cards side-by-side to find that the EVGA cards had different circuitry, even though the PCBs were the same.

Got more stuff in today! I finally got everything up and running; I spend a good hour installing everything and another 30 minutes installing Windows and some preliminary apps.

I can't believe how much I missed my Core i7; I have nothing against AMD but it's good to be on the Intel side of the fence again. I've parted out the old mobo/cpu and they are going up in the FS/T section soon once I round some more things up.

All speeds are currently at stock; PPD numbers will come soon, then an overclock later on. I am not running the second 460 yet, as my SLI bridge will come in the mail, hopefully tomorrow.

Thanks for looking, and for all the feedback! I get another motherboard tomorrow, and my new SAS card for my fileserver. I will order some RAM soon; if I get paid from eBay soon.

Current Specs:

Good to see it all fits...now we will see how good your airflow is in that case...:)

Looks great so far!

Airflow in this case is just average; with GPU at stock and CPU at about 2.8GHz, I am sitting right around 64C on full load. Don't have GPU temps at the moment. This machine is supposed to look "pretty"; it's my main gaming/folding rig. The other systems will sit in front of a box fan if need be. :)

Yay box fan!

It kept my 3x 9800GX2 rig nice and cool.

120mm fan? Try 6000mm fan! :) Anyway, so far so good; I should get a few Work Units in tonight... I might be able to slap together another i7 rig tomorrow, if my motherboard shows up.

When you mow past me, at least buy me a drink!

Can't wait to follow your progress.

Stupid windows update restarted my rig and I forgot to disable it. Oh well, I restarted my clients again.

What aggravates me is I specifically selected "ask me later" during the setup; I thought that turned Windows Update off until I changed it. Obviously not...

Anyway, tonight is date night, so I might not be able to get the second build up. I'll let you know.

That slacker on eBay still hasn't coughed up the dough, and I have four more days to wait until I can file a claim.

Nope, they need sharpening (or overclocking) before they get going too fast. My second motherboard is here, but I don't have time to set it up today. :(

Welcome to the [H]orde. Glad to have you. Looks like I need to sell some stuff off to build me a couple new ones. Should sell it all off and build an SR-2. Probably the only way ima keep up with you guys. LOL.

Fold On
Fish

I've hit some snags; the second board arrived today and may be DOA; it gives me an instant "FF" and won't post. I *may* have diagnosed it to some electrical tape residue on the bottom of my CPU, but must hit the hay for my presentation tomorrow. I won't have any more updates til Friday afternoon.

It's great to be here; I was the only folder on my old team.

Wow! you won't need to worrt about heating that room in winter (either do I) ;) Nice farm. what kind of ppd does a GT240 get? Be nice if you could post some comparo numbers once you get it all setup and running.
