Did you try adding the -forcegpu ati_r700 flag?
That worked but it asked me for a passkey, I just put in the same passkey used for the smp client but I have never had the gpu client ask me for a pass key?
Edit: maybe it worked, will reply back.
All modern clients ask for a passkey, along with other variables, the first time you run the client without a config file present. You can leave it blank on GPU clients. Surprised you haven't notice it before. Please report back your numbers, I have a 6870 arriving tomorrow morning.![]()
You are probably going to have to do some tweaking. 60% GPU usage isn't going to give you very much PPD.Ok it's working, only takes up about 6% cpu with the ati modifications in the variables. But it will only use 60% load on the gpu.

I have no clue at the moment, been two years since I folded on ATI GPUs. I've never used those variables when I did. I was going to research them when my 6870 arrives tomorrow. What else would I change?
Exactly. I didn't buy my 6870 for folding but a couple people wanted folding numbers so I planned on running a unit or two here before I started gaming.ATI GPU's are a waste of time, energy and effort for F@H, why I went to MW and Collatz.
Still, I would be interested in the numbers for reference.

That isn't "folding", I do plan on running them on BOINC projects when not gaming. No worries.I'm interested in them for the folding I do on MW and Collatz so keep us posted.
gaspI get the feeling that the 6000 series architecture will be better-suited to F@H than previous ATI cards due to the changes in shader module structure. It may actually be worth folding on them.

If I was that anal, I'd have to correct you for using nitpicker incorrectly. oh wait.Sometimes you come across as being an anal knit picker.![]()
He is actually quite correct, since the work you're doing has absolutely nothing to do with folding. Though some people choose to use the word as a blanket term for distributed computing, that is a very improper use of it.Ok, I could say folding (which you knew what I referred to) or I could say: "In astroinformatics, Milkyway@Home is generating highly accurate three dimensional models of the Sagittarius stream, which provides knowledge about how the Milky Way galaxy was formed and how tidal tails are created when galaxies merge. " Or this: "Testing the Collatz Conjecture also known as 3x+1 or HOTPO" Or maybe this: "I be cruncin da maths."

I was trying to set you apart from all the other nits but since you want to be only average, you win.
BTW SInce you want to start over correcting, you didn't capitalize your "O" in oh.![]()

You were criticizing his criticism, so I thought I would just criticize your criticism of his criticism. If you feel the need to criticize my criticism of your criticism of his criticism, then feel free to do so.Really, who cares? If you want to take things this seriously, go for it.
Personally, I have a good life outside of the internet.
I donate time and equipment as you and others do because I want to, not to make my life complete. I guess your work is more important that others. Splitting hairs like this is just silly.
Moar D to ya!![]()

I'm so confused, now folding is using about 90% of the core, but my temps went down? before at 60% it was at 55c now it is at 47c, and I have the fan manually set at 45%, it defaulted to 77% way to loud.
Edit: oh wait I figured it out, the gpu is clocked to 300mhz, wtf? Thats with the new hotfix driver.
its because the clients not forcing 3D clocks. you are probably going to have to manually force 3D clocks while folding.
Is there a way to do that with catalyst? I tried to install ati tray tools, but it just bsod's. Before the hotfix driver it ran the 3d clocks![]()

You are ALL wrong. What folding@home does is simulate folding of proteins.
So unless your computers are actually proteins you are not folding.
Now KHW is actually folding, because his body is full of proteins. It is just that his, or any of your computers are not.
God, I hate being right all the time. But I love it that you are so wrong.

Good link to the dictionary.
KWH, are you calling a Tobit an anal knit picker (sic) as in
- "of, relating to, characterized by, or being personality traits (as parsimony, meticulousness, and ill humor) considered typical of fixation at the anal stage of development <an anal disposition> <anal neatness>", which does not set him apart but is really just common to the anal stage of development?
or as in
- "of, relating to, situated near, or involving the anus <an anal fin> , which of course, is not only disgusting, but also incorrect, as nit or louse does not live in the hair of the anus, but of the scalp?
Sorry, I know this is not GenMay, but I just cannot stand the incorrect use of the English language. Mind you, English is not my mother tongue, as in language.
I know you're joking, but I have never understood this sentiment.we butchered and destroyed the english language in this country a long time ago.![]()
