Crossbow:
The premise behind the game sounds incredibly ridiculous and dumb. But in true Crytek tradition, it is purdy.
Too early to determine.Console port *cough*
A crossbow upper on a AR-15 lower? Interesting.
Well, you can't really ask if they can make a game that's in a jungle setting and then exclude a game they made that isn't.Is it even possible for these guys to make a game that's NOT in a jungle? 2 aside.
Semi rhetorical. It's hard to deny that their FPS's are remarkably similar. Plot, gameplay, settings, style. Everything is the same. One could argue that just about every game they've made so far is a reimagining of the same gameWell, you can't really ask if they can make a game that's in a jungle setting and then exclude a game they made that isn't.
Given that, assuming your question isn't rhetorical, the answer is "yes". In addition to the non-jungly Crysis 2, they also made Fibble, which takes place in a kitchen...and shit.

To some degree. I think Crytek is banking on their target market not being entirely bored of the jungle setting, though. I'm pretty sure I'd roll the same dice if I were them: I don't think the jungle theme is played out yet. It's hard to deny that their FPS's are remarkably similar. Yeah, not too impressed with that crossbow.
Looks good.
I'd say these are DEFINITELY PC screens...look at the 3D limbs on the trees and vines hanging all over the place.
That's called tessellation.
So PC goodness for sure...that is unless this is a next-gen console showing...
Yeah, not too impressed with that crossbow. If this was some RPG, I could see getting excited. But that arrow looks like it would just bounce of that big metal guy in the screenshot.
Crysis is ass, pure and simple. The first was a classic based on engine and graphice alone, but the series has really petered out. I can't help but think of Halo when I see this series now.
Valve isn't stopping EA from patching their games. You can patch your game hundreds of times per day if you really wanted to (not that EA would).
They did? I thought the contention was the selling of DLC, not anything to do with patches.Yeah, I know. Valve not letting EA patch their games directly was EA's lame ass excuse as to why they pulled Crysis 2 from Steam and made it Origin only. I called bullshit on it as soon as they floated it as did a lot of others.

You just called it ass... Now its a classic? So confused lol.
Crysis 1 blew. 2 is MUCH better.
almost looks as good as Crysis 1.
It was about DLC. EA wanted to sell directly to end users and bypass the whole process with Steam. Probably wanted to cut Valve out and keep all the money themselves.
It's totally their right to do so, but from the end user perspective it is kind of annoying. DLC is frequently on sale on Steam but EA never seems to put DLC on sale. Those dirty sonsofbitches.
Just getting ready to post something to this effect. Those are renders, not screenshots. And I would bet they are software renders.
