First Beer in Space

Why did it have to be Coors Light? When we sent men to the moon, we chose the very best.

For the honor of First Beer in Space, they at least could have chosen something a little better than Coors Light . Sure, the blue label makes for good film, but that doesn't make it worthy of the title!

I'm not a beer snob by any means, but it doesn't take a beer snob to realize Coors light is closer to piss than beer.

Yuppers. Coors is like sex in a canoe. It is damn close to water.

That's how I cool my beer, though I don't drink Coors, damn piss water beer. I'll send a bottle of Anchor Steam up there with a string attached and a remote parachute so it comes back down gently and nice and frosty .

So according to that video

1) It takes temperature below -60 before the cold label turns dark blue... not sure if that makes a differences

2) The FAA will be visiting him shortly for that stunt

3) He will get a littering ticket from the national park service, regardless of him picking up his litter sometime later

4) The RIAA will send a takedown notice to youtube :D

Gotta get crap beer like this as cold as you can, otherwise you might actually be able to taste it.

Now i'm curious... if you got a big enough balloon, and a suite to keep you warm + oxygen, couldn't doing this with a person make the best sky-diving trip ever?

Wow - beer snobs indeed.

Who the hell cares - he could have sent up a bottle of Yoohoo for all I care, it's still damn cool.

For all the complaining people are doing, I sure don't see anyone else sending a bottle of beer 17 miles up and filming it.

It really amazes me how willing people are to shit all over someone elses hard work and planning because of trivial choices that in no way effect them in the slightest.

Pro Tip: Not everyone is like you (thankfully)

Assuming the can beer survived, I think that it would be appropriate they drank the beer that has been almost on the edge of outer space. :)

It only got almost 1/3 the way to space (324,000 feet) but still kinda cool. Everyone is doing these launches these days (see rickroll in space).

I've seen a lot of these too, from testing ipod cases to putting Canadian-flag-sporting Lego guys in "space". I wonder how many of these people cleared their launches with the FAA first.

I dunno, if you can see the blackness of space during the day time, that's good enough for me for being into space.

I just wish I had as much confidence in all this technology to throw down hundreds or thousands of dollars in cameras/gps/etc all in the hope that I'll be able to find it later... and no one else will find it first and steal it.

It's fucking close to water. Damn close to water doesn't make any sense.

LOL

All I can think of is Biff from Back to the Future saying, "Make like a tree and get out of here".

While I wouldn't wish American beer on anyone, did no one drink it afterword?!

I was wondering the same thing.. Maybe it took too long to locate it and it had warmed up. Would have been cool to see them run up to the landed beer, pop it open and take a drink. :)

Thought it said 'First Queer in Space' and wondered what the Canadians were up to.

Yeah it was out there for a few days.

I was really hoping they were going to drink it at the end.

On a side note Coors light is really good when its over 90F. The weather not the beer.
