-Upon installation all bookmarks are deleted
-Most menus/buttons unresponsive, thus:
  • Cannot add search engines
  • Cannot change security settings
  • Cannot add bookmarks
  • Cannot close tabs - Cannot close tabs with right-click menu either.
  • Cannot change Homepage
-Cannot copy/paste from URL bar.
-URL bar doesn't change when loading new pages.
-Pages in other tabs do not load.
-Pressing refresh while viewing other tabs refreshes the farthest-left tab.
-Is the Right-Click menu really supposed to have 40 items?

I'm sure there's more, these are problem I'm having after 30 minutes with two full uninstall/reinstalls.

mine is working fine so far, had it for a few hours now.

Well I don't seem to be having any of those problems yet, but it doesn't give me the option to open WMV files with MP when I click on them.
It gives option to either save or cancel only. WMV isn't even listed as a file type under tools>options>content>manage file types.
Any ideas?

Thank you for the constructive post. Your limitless insight into my "user error" problem explains exactly what the issue, and its cause, is.

In other news, that bookmark solution actually solved every single problem.

Sorry, thousands of people tried to tell me that Firefox is the perfect browser and doesn't have any issues. EVER
:D

I get the issue where the url does not go into the address bar when the page is changed. This is annoying as i can not copy and paste links.

Anyone know how to solve this plz help!

so far, mine is working perfectly.

Extensions, themes and all.

I use FF 1.5.0.2 for my thumbdrive though :)

It owns

I think Firefox 2 is somewhat slower in responsiveness, actually I'm positive.
Some times when I'm typing it takes a few too many Milliseconds to show up on the screen.
Of course it's with 10 pages open, but Firefox 1 handled 20+ pages fine.

And I don't like the new tab rule with the arrows to move between tabs that are out of view.
I prefer the mushed tabs look.

But other then that, It's better then iexplore.exe

I've had a few anomalies with FF 2.0 also. Namely it randomly will stay running in the process list and even if I end it, I cannot get a new instance to actually show up where I can see it. It just launches processes in Task Manager without actually showing up. It hasn't happened as much the last 2 days but for a while that was getting infuriating. *shrug* But yeah, anyone who says Firefox is a problem-free browser either must not have used it for any extended length of time. I'm definitely a big proponent of Firefox at present but that is because of 3 things: 1. I love the extension base. I would go nuts without ad block plus. It TOTALLY rocks. 2. I like the interface (IE7 is looking a lot better than 6 though I think). 3. I don't get the spyware and virus problems with it that seem so prevalent with IE.

You can change the tab's min width.

Go into your about:config

search/go to "browser.tabs.tabMinWidth" and change the "100" to something smaller....I believe 70 will allow for 10 tabs per bar...I keep mine around 30.

Open Source FTW
