I just got in the beta, was wondering if anyone else did? Starts Monday, June 7th :D

A buddy of mine did. I signed up but didn't get in. Glad I didn't thought. Hardly have time to play StarCraft 2 beta. Definitely not enough time to play another MMO. FFXI took up shitloads of my time and I'm just not willing to do that again. Do want to check out the beta though just to see how it is.
 
did you have to be an active FFXI player to get into beta? i played XI when it came out for about 4 months......
 
well the way i got in.. was i did a FFXIV beta sign up survey months back.. i figure i wasn't going to get in .. cause i haven't heard of anything in such a long time. but i believe the one im entering right now is actually just the second alpha stage...

Alpha has been going on for months now. I just got in myself starting the 9th. They seem to invite you then make you wait 1 week before actually being fully invited.

I do not own any of their games. I signed up for beta last year.
 
How were you guys notified? I signed up with the code from FFXIII, and registered on the Square Enix website.
 
I am super jealous of OP right now. I have been looking forward to this forever. Question for the OP: do you currently have a subscription to FFXI?

Same situation here. This is my first time ever getting selected for a beta program. Looking forward to it!
 
Ugh, I want in sooo bad! I have such great memories from FFXI. I hope I get an e-mail soon.
 
can't wait to play.. wondering how it'll play on my computer... i got a pretty shitty computer lol
 
i got an email saying i'm in, can't log in to the site or anything yet. Guess we'll wait till monday and see when it starts working.
 
i believe email states you wont be able to login till monday. then it'll direct you to download the client
 
I'm in! I can't wait to download it, tomorrow. If it's really up and running I'll probably take Monday and Tuesday off.
 
Yes, I know...I've just been looking forward to the beta invites forEVER and I am very heartbroken right now. It was a desperate plea.
 
So odd. I registered a FFXIII code that specifically states priority access to the FFXIV beta and I've yet to receive an email.

I got a code from FF13. I'm not sure what it's for. Is it for the beta? If anyone wants it send me a pm. I'm surely not going to use it.

FFXIII code is suppose to give you an in-game item.. i dont think it's suppose to give you beta priority

Reading over the email and responses on other forums, not everyone is getting in today. Most people seem to be getting access starting June 9th. It look like I'm going to have to wait until Wednesday. Woe is me. :-~

There's a lot of WoW clones and WoW-inspired games out there already, why would you want more?

FFXI had it's own approach to the MMO genre. Personally I'd like to see FFXIV tweak and refine the FFXI formula; but if it instead decides to go a new route, I definately want it to go it's own way. Those of us who are anxiously awaiting it are doing so because FFXI was different than the other MMOs out there. We're hoping to get that same difference (or rather a different difference :p ) from FFXIV.

If we wanted a WoW-inspired MMO, there's a dozen we could choose from; we're worked up about FFXIV because we hope it's different.

All I did was sign up for beta just like everyone else. I have not entered information anywhere else. Did everyone agree to the NDA by just signing up for the beta?
