Hey disable your second monitor or the input on the card and run the benchmark again.

When I did on my 4890 the score went up alot.

I took that picture with my blackberry in a hurry on my way out to the movies. While waiting for the movie to start I uploaded the pic to imageshack and then posted it here. But I guess you didn't know you could do that with a phone?

What kind of fail game company creates a benchmark with no full screen mode? Not to mention there is absolutely nothing special about this games graphics.

This benchmark does not do the game justice. It really starts looking good ones you get out in the open on land.

720p - 5216
load - 21944 ms (ouch, time to defrag)

Actual in game performance is okay with AA and a couple features disabled at 1680x1050. Mostly over 30 fps with dips down to 20 in populated areas.

There difference between us is I would have just waited until I got home after the movie instead of rushing to put up low quality pics.

I always take the time to do things right :p

Who gives a shit, I mean really, besides you? The guy obviously has other priorities in life besides PC gaming. This isn't about showing off screen shots, it's about posting benchmark scores. If it was about showing how nice the game looks you'd have a point, but it isn't. Whether or not he choses to "do it right" or make efficient use of his time makes absolutly ZERO difference to the topic here.

At 720p resolution with an icore i7-930 at stock + 5870 at stock, scored a 4089 // 19,000 ms load time. Overall, I was pretty impressed to be honest. I imagine that the graphics being shown are to an extend in-game and not an FMV which seemed impressive to me. I've been playing World of Warcraft for far far too long and really World of Warcraft's graphics are awful looking. So my being impressed by mmorpg graphics of this level might just be due to the standard I've become used to feels like something from the late 90s.

seems like your processor is holding your 5850 back, my i7 920 + 5770 got 27-2800 on the bench and I'll be crossfiring soon
 
So, I updated to the ATI 10.8 drivers, and installed the new CrossfireX profiles (which has an entry for FFXIV)

My new score for Quadfire Full Screen is 3633! In addition, the blue bar, stayed MUCH more even across the benchmark than with the 10.7's.

Windows mode provided no improvement.

I've gone ahead and ordered a new Corei7 CPU and board, so I hope to see some improvement this weekend.

3450 - Quad Fire - Full Screen

To confirm my results, I pulled the .DLL file from the benchmark folder to run in Windowed mode again

This was on my C2D OC'd to 3.6 along with running the bench from my SSD.

While the scores improved, the display was awful. Screen tearing in QuadFire is putting it lightly, more like screen shredding. The little blue bar looked like a seismograph the entire time.

Crossfire improved on the screen tearing, but still hard to ignore.

Single GPU was more to the norm...a smoother blue bar, but low FPS symptoms.

From what I've seen a Q9550 with a 5850 hits just over 3600 in windows mode, so I'm not sure if a Q9550 is a good idea, or simply dump the X2's fora 5xxx, or an upcoming 6xxx card.

I'll bench hers tonight and see if I can get a comparison.

I got my 5850 in and score about 3k on both tests. I know my processor is the bottleneck but I just can't afford to spend the money on it.

I feel bad spending money on that kind of thing with the people in Haiti still having a hard time, Pakistan being half under water (previously), and the economy in such bad shape.
 
So, Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead. But it seems some people were able to apply some work around to get SLI and Crossfire working properly.

Anyone Bench this with a High End i7, Either Quad or 6 Core Overclocked and 2x GTX 480's?

I dont think the benchmark does, but online there is some registry hack or some hack in the game that allows you to trick your computer in thinking there is a SLI/Crossfire profile for the game. Or something like that.

Quality of your work? Haha, this a thead about posting benchmark results. Hell, no screenshot is even needed, just post whatever you got in writing. Dude, you got owned and now you're just trying to save face by coming up with lame excuses and accusing others of getting worked up.
 
At stock (low) setting: 3502
At 1.8Ghz, 750/1050Mhz (low) setting: 3764 (What I'll probably play as. Temps were 103ish)
At 1.8Ghz, 775/1100Mhz (low) setting: 3849 (Temps hit 106*C)
At 1.8Ghz, 775/1200Mhz (low) setting: 3902 (Temps hit 110*C. Laptop reboots at 111*C)


Hardware: Asus G73JH notebook, best buy edition. 1600x900 screen, so I can't run the high setting of the benchmark.

Intel i7-720QM (1.6/2.8Ghz normally, OC'd to 1.8/3Ghz)
6GB DDR3 (522MHz normally, OC'd to 614Mhz, 7-7-7-20-27 1.5V)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 (Catalyst 10.8)

yesterday I ran the benchmark again at 1080p with new 10.8 drivers and crossfire disabled and my score went up a bit. 4211 now vs 4001 before.
 
cool missed this somehow. Not sure if I'll like the game but have always been a fan of the graphics style.

Crossfire didn't make too much of a difference.. 4386. GPU load was barely at 40% on both card..

1,880 @ 1080p
18,672ms load time (old school raptor ftw!)

System is a c2d e8400 @ 4ghz with an old reference 4850 at 675mhz. GPU temp never went over 69c.

And improvement I got.

I purchased an Asus ROG Extreme III board, an I7-930 with an H70 cooler, and Mushkin DDR3-1600 RAM

Right now EVERYTHING is stock speeds - I've not begun my OC process at this time. I've turned off HT and Turbo in the BIOS. ATI 10.8 drivers plus the CrossfireX profiles are installed

My new score is 4611 using Quadfire Full Screen.

I cant imagine what 4.0Ghz will do! :)

I just went from a 4850 to a 460 1G and didn't even break 2500... :[

What happens when you do the Full Screen & SLI Hack? Because as it looks, you ran in a window and probably only used 1 GPU for that bench.
 
Hmm... did a few googles and tried some dll hack and importing SLI profiles (meant for the beta actually, but just used the FFXIV benchmark exe instead) and couldn't get it to work.

However when I ran the bench above, both GPU's were being used as I watched Afterburner. Pre-oc I was getting 4.5k scores.
