[FFF] $10K - 100K PPD

At this point (20 cases) you require a lot of space. A Tournelle (sp?) stack would be more appropriate, and for better heat dissipation orient it so the boards are vertical.
Right now you can usually get a m/b/CPU from Fry's for about $280 every couple of weeks. Add ram for $25
Add a power supply for every other one, netboot and run off a server. You should be able to get an easy 3300ppd per system w/o OC, and you could probably get about 30 systems.

However if you really want to do it don't stick your money in the bank. Buy one or two as soon as you can and put out an extra 7Kppd.

Also - remember that every watt of heat in the summer needs to be cooled.

/edit - or just buy Dell's
I just got a Dell 530 Q6600 w/ 250GB HD, DVD R/W, mouse, K/b, 1GB RAM and 3 yr warranty shipped for $460.

Ah true enough. For whatever reason I only thought of OC'ing Xeons that way. You are limited by a hard max FSB, but you would save at least $25 per rig, probably, plus get HDDs and ROM drives to boot.

Me thinks the Q6600's will be discontinued before/if this farm is made :p

What are we at now.... $50 or $100

Maybe he can make some cash on the side? You can share how you used to breath digital_exhaust. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

:D I guess you could say that but it did not stop me from going to the bank and set up a fund... Now I guess even at 50-100 a month going into the bank unless I get a good paying job then I'm gonna invest more in it and so on... THIS IS MADNESS!

Oh man, you might move to Maryland?! MARYLAND FTW!

Land of the chickens ? I now understand why

I used to drive from Norfolk, VA to my girlfriend's house near Philidelphia on Highway 13. At first I hated Delaware. I believe you on the chickens. That state had me checking my shoes to see what I had stepped in. I can really see living right outside of Delaware, doing your shopping there, and living somewhere with lower property taxes.

That state really bothered me though. The shit smell just couldnt be shaken. Very smooth roads though. I was a real fan of that.

If you take I-495, the smell is more pronounced...they have chemical plants that border the road, you pass over a river that prob has been nuked with chemicals, trash and other things plus there's a landfill near the I-95 merge that frequently burns stuff. It produces a 2-3 foot high blue flame that you can see at night. Once you get past that, it's not so bad...

That's just the methane being flared off from all of the rotting garbage.

Delaware doesn't have tolls in I-95...The only toll road in Delaware is Route 1 from Smyrna south past Dover.

Oh yeah, it's I-295 and I think I'm lumping in everything from Maryland to NY. It all sucks. :p:p We're getting EZ Pass before next Christmas.

Look at this....

Ah...the Delaware Memorial Bridge toll....can't believe I forgot about that one. :p

Thanks for telling where is the next service area because I need to pee...

What the sign doesn't says in which direction the service station is... Good luck, it's 50% from here and on.

Right here, am looking for an apartment in MD, I start working this upcoming Wednesday. (I'm looking for an apartment that is both affordable and free elec+gas [we all know why])
Oh man, you might move to Maryland?! MARYLAND FTW!
FTW? I don't know... I am more of a western myself, but hey time changes.
If you do move to Maryland, you won't be far from me ;)

Delaware, home of tax free shopping...and a nuclear power plant....and chickens (300 per person)
I guess we can have some cold beers and what not ;)
