Fallout 4

If you scout around as you go there are camping spots all over the place with bedrolls that you can sleep in. Granted, it makes travel slow down to a crawl but knowing where a bed may be sure makes life easier, lol.

Settler management mod provided to me by a kind Redditor.
Works perfectly. It lists every settler, so you can select each Unassigned worker and then view the list of any objects in your base that don't have an assignment (Scavenging station, bed, food crop, etc) to assign them.

You can also manage other settlements from one terminal. Pretty crazy.

It's a fairly new mod and low on endorsements so maybe people don't know about it.

^^ Oh my gosh, that's amazing. I'm installing that right now. That mod needs to take off like wildfire!

Do I just install it with NMM? The file there says "loose files" so I'm not sure if there is an extra step.

Holy shit that's awesome.

Just got to where I have to choose a faction. Nerve racking. I think I'm going to go with the Institute. Poor Tinker Tom.

BoS has the best ending.
Make a new save, and play all 3 of them (or is it 4?) ...

Seriously though, make sure you see the BoS ending at some point.

Danse is the most annoying companion though. Nothing makes that guy happy, I've played with him for a day of in game time and he won't give me his damn perk.

Did you do all the available BoS missions? Danse has some good ones. They occur before the faction choice... I think.

Witnessed a brutal death earlier yesterday.

Minutemen were defending a location against Automatron Rust Devils and their robot creations. One of the Minutemen was battling an Assaultron based robot with two long, bladed arm appendages. The robot knocked the Minuteman down to the ground then proceeded to left-right the Minuteman over a half-dozen times, killing him. It was a holy crap, up-close and personal moment. Made me realize how versatile the Automatron DLC really is and how the DLC changes gameplay.

Yup. I only have radiant quests available for them now. I wish there were more quests with the Vertibird, the super mutant one was cool then they just stop.

I want to make sure I do this right: Can I install this with NMM nice and easy?

The reason I'm not sure is because he lists his file as "loose files" with nothing else so I just want to make sure I don't screw it up.

The mod contains an ESP along with a dozen or so individual script files.
If you install with NMM, it will extract the ESP and script files to your FO4\Data folder and enable the ESP. After that you're done. You still have to check your plugins.txt to make sure the mod is listed properly (along with all your other mods of course).

You can install it yourself by downloading the mod manually, and extracting both the mso_sms.esp file and the Scripts folder to your Fallout 4\Data folder. After that you just have to enable the ESP in your Plugins.txt (or with NMM).

"Loose files" just means it has some random scripit/interface/texture/etc files that have to be dropped into your Data folder (non-ESP related). Those are usually the easiest to add or remove since they are drag-and-drop.

As far as mod installs go, it's pretty basic.

HeavensCloud BoS radiant quests will take you to places you haven't explored as of yet with your current character. If you haven't obtained every bobblehead or magazine then following BoS radiant quests will take you places where they are at.

Chat with the vendors in Diamond City and Goodneighbor and them if they have any work. You'd be surprised at what can be found in each of the areas your sent to.

As of last night, after 1,581 hours of gameplay over seven characters, I have done everything there is to do in Fallout 4, including the DLC.

- Every Bobblehead has been found
- Every magazine has been found
- Every settlement location populated
- Every unmarked location discovered
- Every holotape discovered (won't post spoilers for the misc holotapes)
- Every tribute to other games discovered
- Every power armor has been found (current character is working on getting PA situated at The Fort. Will take awhile as I don't use fast travel)
- Every tier 4 vendor has been recruited; including:

Sheffield who isn't a tier 4 vendor but is recruitable. He can be assigned, appropriately, to food and drink station.

For now I will be concentrating on Abernathy farms mega-building and finishing The Fort settlement until Far Harbour arrives.

Q-BZ Yes, install through NMM then sort your load order with the changes I've listed previously.

Edit: additional information posted

Welp I just led the Institute to world domination. As soon as the game ended my interest in playing further went to zero. I played through on very hard as a rifleman blitzkrieg this time. Is the new survival mode in effect yet? I might try sneak sniper on survival next, but lack of quick save is going to wreck me.

Holy shit, Supply Line reset.

edit: Okay I don't like the new "Start Program" screen. It adds an unnecessary click to get into the program. I might post on the Nexus page about it.

Ho-lee-shit survival is hard.

Carry weight changes are insane, mini nukes weigh 10 pounds now lmao among all other ammo and stimpacks having weight, walking around over-encumbered causes pretty significant damage to you, food and roasts don't heal you - just ease your hunger level, sleeping bags can only be used for 3 hours at a a time and don't even let you rest fully, you're fucked if you run into someone with a shotgun or grenade at close range.

I feel like these are a bit extreme, but I understand that's what this difficulty is for. I've been running around with illness for an hour because I can't find any antibiotics. Can't fast travel, and with healing rate slowed way the fuck down if you get tired out in the middle of no where you either have to literally start dropping all your gear or die from being over-encumbered due to illnesses and tiredness decreasing your stats.

Not sure if I can stick this one out.

I agree. I made a save before I had to pick. I made sure and read all the guides I could so I could do it right. BoS definitely has the best ending. I never saw the Institute ending, but I really don't care to. I loved the BoS ending, but in the end I really didn't believe in their cause. I also wanted Maxson's legendary laser gatling because I'm petty like that. I made my final save after I finished the Railroad.

Danse is the most annoying companion though. Nothing makes that guy happy, I've played with him for a day of in game time and he won't give me his damn perk.
Yes. Danse is a bit pathetic. If you follow the BoS quest line you will see him be even more pathetic. His story line ends before you actually end the main quest line.

If you want Danse to like you, all you need to is use Power Armor. The BoS even give you a set. Danse gives you affiinity points when you enter and exit Power Armor. He also gives you points when modify armor and weapons.

-edit- I finally finished my personal mansion. There are way too many screenshots to share, and you won't get the feel of it unless you actually see some of it's moving parts. I'm uploading a youtube video now. It should be done in a few hours.

But have you seen the tribute to Blade Runner's end scene as well as several other Easter Eggs?

What do you mean tribute to other games? The holotape versions of classic arcade games?

As promised...

It took me untold amount of hours to build, but it's done. After watching the video, I found some minor things I missed, like bathroom doors and a corner trim piece, but those have been fixed since I made this video. I wasn't going to re-record.

The video is 14 minutes long, feel free to fast forward thru it since I recorded every little detail. Please note: after re-compressing several times with Handbrake, I still couldn't get the 1080p video below 1.3GB. I'm sure there are some other tricks to use, but I already cut it down 4GB from Shadowplay and didn't want to waste even more time on it. Those with broadband shouldn't have an issue. Those on mobile or low data caps should select a lower resolution.

Here it is:

Clark Mansion.

Yep, every Easter Egg in Fallout 4 which does include movie references.

Also found another mod to install. Instead of those bulky store stands I'm in the process of converting them all over to cash registers from the Convenient Stores mod. Much, much better than using the mats and I don't have to fiddle-fart with orientation.

Made it through Concorde, killed the Deathclaw with a fat man crit. Got wrecked on the way to Tenpines by an alpha legendary mongrel that literally jumped out from under a fridge and scared the shit out of me after I had already cleared the area. Fun times.

A little bit of this and that:

Big Alien Bunker v2.00 - New Alien Faction - New Location at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community

It's a shame the latest patch busted this. I wanted to play it. Hopefully it can be fixed but it's about time some people had fun with the aliens, which I felt so far were underutilized in this. Maybe a future DLC gives them their just due?

PreWar Alien Invasion at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community I'll have to try this for fun.

^^ I remember this mod's equivalent in New Vegas: Alien Storm at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community

Madness. You couldn't move and the game's performance would drop from all the aliens beaming in. They killed everyone and everything in sight. NPCs... it didn't matter. You fire this up you better have some powerful, fast guns with a shitton of ammo.

A World Of Pain at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community <- One of my all time favorite mods. I hope to see something like it for this game.

The Someguy Series at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community Anyone remember these? I hope someguy2000 makes something along these lines for Fallout 4. Probably one of the best user made "quest" mods I've played.

Beantown Interiors Project at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community I loved this in the previous games and I'll be installing it soon.

Wonderful concept. These are the kinds of mods I've been waiting to see.

I was just trying to wind down some time with building my creature fighting pit and figure out how to make Danse give up his perk, aaaaaaand this comes along.

May 18th.

That big-ass pointy beaked...'thing'.

I can tell you all right now, Children of Atom Reborn are going to die. Horribly. By my hand.

Based upon the trailer, it seems like an area you'd probably want to explore earlier in the game. By the time you get toward the end of the game you're borderline unkillable by all but a few specific foes. At least if you weren't making a low-level speed run or something.

That reminds me... I need to go back to the crater and exterminate them.

They always respawn one guy on the boat itself at the lighthouse every couple in game days. I noticed he always spawned behind the boat's cabin and immediately had cover and be pinned. My turret's would fire, 20+ settlers would be firing from the cliff, but it would take them 5 minutes or me showing up to finally kill him.

I got tired of getting the message that the settlement was under attack. I placed one heavy machine gun turret on the corner of the boat facing the bow. Now every time they spawn they die in 3 seconds. Every few days I get random +50xp messages on my screen so I know it's working.

When I was still doing the mechanist quests, I got a message that lighthouse was under attack. I fast traveled there and apparently the robots spawned north of the lighthouse just close enough to the other crater settlement. 2 eyebots attacked my lighthouse. The other bots all went north. It was a fun 5 minute light show from my scope as they massacred each other. I'm not even sure how the Atom cult managed to even take out 1 bot since they were using radiation based weapons, maybe they bludgeoned each to death.

Hard? or tedious? I mean, I don't think I would mind the weight stuff much if it weren't for the fact you can't just call your settlers and have a place looted. So there goes junk looting.
