Fallout 4

I must say, after gaming the Witcher 3 for +100 hours...I was dissapointed with all the Fallout 4 stuff...I have gamed the all, at release since Fallout 1...

The world looks TOO dead...TOO static...so sad.

hoping this and/or Battlefront gets bundled with Nvidia/AMD cards in the Fall so I can snag a code for cheap

Battlefront is supposed to have Mantle support so likely it will be amd optimized.

I hope they will improve shooting mechanics in FO4. RPG can be a good shooter. FO3 was horrible in that respect.

Looks fantastic but too much like Fallout 3 which imo is not a bad thing at all.
I still have to finish New Vegas

Where did you read that? Because Mantle is dead and I have seen no announcement about it for Battlefront. Vulkan perhaps (fingers crossed), but not Mantle.

Yep that's is the list of games for it amd and dev are saying porting mantle games to dx12 is going to be very simple. I am hoping fallout 4 uses Vulcan or mantle just not gameworks...

That comparison dosn't make sense?
Do you even compute?

As I have not been scouring the Web for rumors and stuff on fallout 4 until recently I did not know they were going to recycle skyrim's engine again for fallout 4.

As at the time of my post I had not found out it was using an old engine I was hoping it was not drinking the camp nvidia koolade amd was instead drinking the cloudy tap water in camp amd...

Comparing rendering API's to middlewares makes no sense...no matter the spin, sorry.

So try for a third time?

it is not surprising Battlefront would have mantle support since it is likely built into Frostbite 3, pretty much any frostbite 3 game should have support for it with minimal effort and the performance gains are amazing for me in BF4 with mantle.

Gamebryo is an engine originally released in 1997, and Bethesda first began using it in 1998 when they switched to it during development of Morrowind. The engine is likely two decades old now, if you include initial pre-release development time. It is no wonder that the engine has so many ongoing problems and looks so graphically dated in multiple ways.

There has been a dog in every fallout game so far, except maybe New Vegas.
Pretty sure his name is always Dogmeat, too.

Dogmeat...... Dogmeat never changes.... :D

Dogmeat was the cause of many a reload, because you don't get to kill mah doggah!

It's a shit engine these days, but it saves Bethesda money to be used on assets. Wait, even the textures suck.

Oh well, at least crafting seems to be much improved.

It's really unfortunate that after all these years, there has been no company that has given competition to Bethesda in the heavily-moddable first/third-person open-world RPG market.

I wish they could rework the sneak system, it's hilariously unrealistic and OP.

Yup. You can get to a point where someone is looking right at you practically in broad daylight and you can be an invisible specter.

loved this in Skyrim, which suffers the same as FO3. Arrow to the face from point blank range and you get the nice sneak bonus damage.

Well it's still an RPG, something a lot of people don't seem to realize. A lot of this game has to do with numbers checking chances and whatnot in the background, hence why you get funny stuff like that.

haha yeah, i remember saying while i was playing "nooo! dont go there!!!!" and i had to run in panic after him so he would not get hurt :D

Try sneaking around in Vault 108 in the Chinese Stealth Armor with a Stealth Boy active and in the crouched position. It's hilarious when a weapon is pointed at a clone Gary and they voice, "Be careful with that." or some other saying. :D

I stopped taking followers in all the recent bethesda games unless I needed them for a specific objective. Too many times they do stupid stuff like jump in front of me when I'm trying to shoot/cast/swing a sword. Very annoying, hope they improve the AI for 4.

Oh yeah...sneak critical bonus is what I'm all about in all of these games. ;)

I know this is a long shot, and doesn't really make sense, but has anyone heard anything about co-op?

Nevermind...Pipboy editions all gone again..from Amazon...they were there...then *poof* gone.

Funny thing was, they are almost impossible to kill. Don't know how many times one of my NPC's (the sniper guy from novac) would run off and get into a fight, they'd knock him unconscious, then he'd get back up, take a shot or two, then down again. Rinse repeat for as long as i cared to wait or he killed the bad guys. Never gave him a stimpack either. Bastard was unkillable.

My comment about dogmeat dying was from the original fallout games, not FO3 or NV. I think i just "parked" dogmeat in my house while playing FO3.

Plus, in FO3 and NV, i never really felt the need for NPC's. If you were smart and used terrain or just avoided certain enemies till you leveled up, there really were very few unwinnable fights.

No thank you to co-op, please.

I am going through Skyrim right now and it never fails for her to jump right in the path of my magic every time.

I could care less if they had Co-Op as long as the other players don't glitch the story.

bah, you guys have no heart, fo3 dogmeat was valiant and courageous, he was all furry and noble.

I do not get th epeople against co op in fallout or TES games.

It's long been a "dream" of many fans to be able to play/explore the worlds together with a friend and it would have no impact on the story (Since most of the time you travel with AI companions in both games).

Simply setup options the host can select (IE othe rplayers can't interact iwth npc's/harm friendlies, etc) so people can't " mess" up your game or do anything nyou don't want them to.

Thi sis the kind of thing that people wanted from MP in TES, we NEVER Wanted an "mmo" or for anything that would change the game.

Yet after ESO now if ANYONE brings up mp of any kind, even simple co op, the same kind that existed in one of the best rpg sof all time, Baldur's Gate, people get bent out of shape over it like it's somehow going to mess up the game and change it, when it doesn't have to.

I don't see anybody against co-op in Bethesda games. It's just that nobody expects Bethesda to to be able to successfully introduce such advanced programming techniques to their games.

The real problem is we asked for coop and got that garbage ESO MMO.

Because THEY DIDN'T LISTEN. WE NEVER ASKED FOR THIS!

This was my reaction to ES Online

Man i would give anything for a proper ES or fallout series title with just 2 player co-op, 4 player co-op would be amazing tho.

MMO based on it was so not needed especially lacking real time non lock on combat, with arrows curving to hit targets that move and crap, yeah no thanks.
