One of my coworkers has an Eyefinity setup - he mentioned that MS Flight Sim X is rather dreadful at it - apparently, it scales very badly to that size (his comment was that 'you didn't get to actually see anything else to the sides, it just zoomed the same square view to the width of the monitor setup, so most of the view was lost above and below what was displayed')

Did your friend set it for widescreen in his config?

well that sucks.....the one type of game that you would think would be fantastically awesome....

Whether FSX works well for Eyefinity or not, I'd not take that as a strike against the entire genre. FSX is really quite a...mediocre flight sim. Perhaps the best civil flight sim, but that's not saying much - there isn't a lot of competition in the market.

There are flight sims more in the 'combat flight sim' category that still manage a substantially superior flight model and aerodynamics. To the point, in fact, that many 'non-combat' gamers have co-opted them for aerobatics. And several of these work SUBSTANTIALLY better in an Eyefinity setup.

You could have the monitors on the sides showing the side windows, and even a monitor overhead showing the straight-up view - I remember seeing pictures of somebody who had set it up like that. I just spent some time trying to Google for it but was unsuccessful; I am unable to remember the title of the game. It was remarkable because the Macs supported multiple monitors and the PCs of the time had no way of doing that.

FSX was never the best X-Plane has always been better not as pretty but a better sim and it supports any res your throw at it

Ya, I know Msoft's is not the best, its just one that I have the game disc for. I've heard X-plane is one of the better ones just never tried it out.

I can't imagine having a 15inch CRT hanging on a mount that close to my face...bad news if fails lol...imagine the deskspace needed for that many CRT monitors lol.

DCS A10-C and DCS Blackshark.

Both of those games are absolutely awesome. Also try LOMAC which integrates with Black Shark.

Also in March IL-2 Cliffs of Dover is being released.

Wings of Prey is Good however i feel the Multiplayer was a let down compared to IL-2.

X-Plane 10 should be out some time this year but as I said be for X-Plane if you want a hard core GA sim

I own FSX, Wings of Prey and Sturmovik. I honestly just keep playing Sturmovik, was not pleased at all with Wings of Prey, although Matrices might be right. It does look amazing, the gameplay is just lacking imo.
