I looked in my Control Panel, and I found that I can't enable it on any of my games even with 3D settings for Program specific. You must be talking about the game control, which goes back to my point. It's one of those 30 games I don't care about. PhysX did stuff, it just worked on like no games. Convince me this is better, and supports every game or intends to. ;), Otherwise, it is a "skippable tech" in 99% of cases.

Yeah I am going to need some proof of your claim.

A regular 2060 with RTX DLSS on:
BFV it performs almsot even.
Metro it wins by a comfortable margin (The best use of RTX/DLSS).
Tomb Raider it's even.

The 2060 Super has 2070 performance so it will perform between 10-20% better than what you see in the videos RTX/DLSS on.
Metro's use of RTX/DLSS will be the standard moving forward, creating a vast performance gap from the last gen in many upcoming games.
The 3080 series will make this gap even wider over the 2080 series.

So one game? You said it's beats it by a wide margin. What you didn't say was in one game. It's ok though you got what you want even if you fudge your numbers a bit.

You misread. The card on the video is a regular 2060. I spoke about the 2060 Super in my post which will win in all three games by a "decent margin" as I stated in the original post.

It's kind of funny how someone who want to upgrade for several hundred bucks to get something they already had. It's kinda like buying the latest smartphone now.

The "new" implementation of DLSS is good though I wouldn't factor it into my purchase decisions until it sees widespread adoption. If you have to buy something today, the 1080ti is still a good choice assuming price is right.

I can't speak to the 2060 or 2060s, but I've owned a 2070 and 3 different 1080ti models. The 1080ti and 2070 were not noticeably different, IIRC I ran RTSS on a few titles and unigine where the 1080ti was slightly ahead. The 2070 or 2070s are good picks if you want 1080ti performance with something newer / having a warranty and can't wait until the 3000 series arrives.

Maybe don't worry about spoon-feeding the "convince me" dinks their DLSS homework; let them hang back on Pascal in ignorant bliss - it's going to be hard enough securing a 3080 at launch without more people seeing the light.

Some relatively good deals there. I see a 1070 for a decent price. I also like some of the 2080 prices. I have a 1070, so tempted to upgrade, but I think I will wait and see what the PS5 brings. It is basically a high spec gaming PC, but more importantly it will bring a new generation of multiplatform games that will take advantage of the features on newer cards. I am a cheap gamer, who usually only buys $5 PC games, so I can get by on older hardware. The nice thing is that all the patches, mods, and DLCs are out by then. So, I don't need to worry about support or expensive hardware e-peen. I loved owning my 1080ti's but realized only a few games needed it. Just reduce shadow and lighting detail to get by on slower hardware. Now that I am a busy grown-up, I enjoy arcade emulation for fun quick gaming sessions. Fun hobby!

Judging by the Reddit thread, apparently there were better deals available early AM (e.g. $100 980Ti) - that's more in the spirit of B-Stock.
Anything left at normal east coast hours (West coast has a huge advantage) - well, just the same stuff we've been seeing come in and out of stock the last 6 months.
Turing skus (Super or regular) not being essentially retail price is a nice change, but not impressive all things considered.

A 2070 Super thread was created later this morning - which probably helped get that sold out too.
  • $450 2070 Super
  • $530 2080 non-Super. I remember non-Supers being $499 in Fall 2019, which it's still puzzling to see it above that in 2H20.
  • $619 2080 Super. Could get interesting once they get into lower $500s range.
Regarding 1080Ti - yeah I saw that this morning. With my knowledge that the used market hit sub $400 pre-COVID and with every week being closer to Ampere, it's hard for me to pay more than that. Yeah, the 13% premium gets you eVGA 1-yr warranty (associate code cancels out sales tax), which is nice, but will depend on how immediate you even need a card. I think at this point I'll be fine with the 3070/3080; or for the 2070Super/2080Super used market to adjust following Ampere release.

I'm in the same boat. I paid $365 for an EVGA 1080 TI SC pre-COVID, and $375 shipped for an OEM RTX 2080 at the start of the year on this forum. Those have since been passed on to some friends of mine who were in the market for their first builds. I am currently sitting on an ASUS STRIX GTX 1070 with one broken fan. Trying desperately to hold out for Ampere/RDNA 2 but I get bored easily.

at checkout another 25$ comes off with the code i posted above. so a little less of a premium for the warranty.. its not the worst deal. especially for people who cant spend all day looking for the absolute lowest price a 1080ti has gone for in the last 6months. and im not knocking on you guys who can get those great deals. its just that most dont. they are still going for 500+ on ebay.. i went and looked just a second ago. theres a ftw3 with 12bids at 510$ RN.

Yes I missed that detail but I figured I'd let him know so he could delete the thread. But I guess you're all using it as a link to the Bstock?

It was on the front page of the sub forum, I think
