Epic Games Store

The new Epic Games Launcher might not suck so much thanks to 'ground-up' rebuild

Epic Games Store is getting a big update with a redesigned storefront to make it easier to find games...the new home screen will have better personalized recommendations based on what you like and quick categories to browse

- Better personalized recommendations on the home screen
- Written reviews from players
- Player profiles with avatars
- Support for Xbox and PlayStation controllers
- Patch notes from game developers right in the store
- A tool to check how games will run on your computer
- The ability to gift games across different regions
- Coupons funded by publishers

A test version of the updated launcher is coming soon

Honestly i dont see a reason for me to avoid epic game store any longer. ive been hesitant for years, but theres no reason other that i cared about having all my games in one place. There are some good exclusives on their storefront that id like to play.

I never did. Heck, I dislike steam for bringing about always online drm to the masses in the first place and their prices are often higher than uplay, ea/origin, and epic in any case. I have had origin and uplay launchers for over a decade at this point, and epic since they launched for the sales and free games. The entire "omg steam does x" thing is meaningless to me.

I don't like having to have a pile of separate launchers (Steam, Ubi, EA, GOG, Battle.net, Epic, etc.) but as long as Epic is giving away free games all the time, I'll keep it installed.
My Epic library shows 164 games. I've only actually purchased 2 from them - Mortal Shell and Alan Wake 2. Some are dupes and trash games, but that's still pretty wild. At least 1/2 of those are AA and AAA titles.
