Eclipse's christmas challenge

about the same age as my older stick. good luck man :D
just keep them ICE cold when going over 3.2-3.3v, that's kinda pushing it for micron if you use it for more than 30 min. just figure out what to set, then bump the voltage and quickly get the shot ;)

Reppin the only Athlon 64 in the list... I'm workin on some stuff to climb back up... Not sure if its gonna work or not :p

Well considering my cpu is hitting a wall at about 2.68, this is what I'll be running 24/7. That's as high as my ram will run its stock timings, which flat out impressed me considering its 2.5 years old.

least budwise is representing us dual core guys pretty well.

yeah, definitly. this contest is somewhat biased against you guys since the single core opterons are hard to touch, but i did put a reasonable mhz cap on things :D

man, I still wish I had my opteron. I would have liked to have seen how it held up. About the best I can get out of this 3200 is 31 seconds dead even.

I really need some new memory, trying to tighten my timings just hangs the system.

EDIT:

My best so far was 29.688, managed to shave a hair off to 29.641. Hey every little bit counts.

I got my Opty 170 back to 2.6 now that my AS5 is starting to set in, Went to D-load one of the files off of RadeonX, only for my antivirus to detect the win32 dropper Virus, had to remove it & reboot I suggest that you all update your Antivirus solutions & scan Immediately

how far can you get it with looser timings? there's a reason i went for 3-3-3 at 300mhz in my shot :D

9 Down, 1 To Go.

Not too bad for a quick 25 minute tweak run. I couldn't take not playing with my memory any longer. :) The next divider up puts me @ 270MHz, and I wasn't feeling confident enough putting that much voltage thru these sticks, since I have no idea how they scale. I'll mess with 'em some more when I get some more time.

Full Folding Ahead!

nice tsue. we'll have to have a utt-bh shootoff when my XTC gets here and you're done with the hardbowl :D

It maxes out at 235-240 3:4:4:8. I usualy run it like that, but I'm right at that limit with a 150 divider, so I dropped it to 133 so I could bump the bus and shave a bit of time off.

42 Seconds for both my Barton 2600+ (mobile) and my Laptop with A64 in it. :) Going to try bumping my Mobile Barton up to 2.9 ghz again (yeah, don't kill me, it'll be doing almost 1.975 volts)...

OK. I will have some numbers before the Christmas day!!!
i'm gonna get techhead or papa-ming to edit it to let the contest keep going ;) :p

Just rename it to Eclipse's AMD SuperPI Challenge, then take the stupid MHz cap off. :p

Full Folding Ahead!

before i post your result, close all those programs and run it again, you should be in the high 27's ;)

bored watching this 146 burn in so i figured i would give the 1M challenge a few minutes of my attention.

reppin for 2GB kits around the world...27.375

and this is with 2*512 of some XTC BH5s...27.328

this is the best i think i will get either kit so i am gonna call it quits with these times and both in just before christmas ;)

you got time to retake the shot? a64tweaker bugged out :p
bahhh, i didn't even see that. i updated with the screenshot prior to that run, a little higher but it is still good for 2nd. i will try to get another 37.5xx later i guess, i already re-loaded the settings and don't think i saved it in reloaded.

ah. well, just so you know, at equal settings, 2x1gb is almost always faster than 2x512mb.. 4 way bank interleaving instead of 2 way is the reason iirc :D (gives more bandwidth)

well then your 2*512 sticks are beating up on this OCZ kit because there is nothing i can do to get under your number 1 time. close...but not quite. check my first post, it has been updated with my new time and screenshot.

Damn that 3ghz rule!!!!

Put me on the list.

Uhh... How did it take your 2.4 ghz Barton to do that in 52 seconds? My Barton clocked at 2.2 ghz did it in 42 seconds?

lovin em. they are doing exactly what i had hoped they would, albeit a little hotter than i would have liked, but you can't have everything. water will fix the heat issue with the one that will be used for benching so i am quite pleased.

it has been said before but i will say it again, dave is the man!

yeah, i have a bit tihigher mhz with my 2x512mb though ;)
you should be able to get a bit more out of those XTC's though, tightening up some secondaries.

try something like this:
trc = 7
trfc = as tight as you can :)
trrd = as tight as you can. utt-bh should be able to do 0
trtw should be able to drop to 2

max async latency, try to get it to 7ns, 6ns would be best, but probably won't work. 7ns might be hard with an htt of 300mhz though
read preamble, get as low as you can

that should drop a few tenths :D

My Barton sucks at life.

Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

I have to use CPUFSB to overclock, since I'm running a Compaq.....could that be it?

At Stock speeds of 2.2ghz I get 57 seconds.......

Meh, I need to take some time out of my folding competition to really try and knock both of you sissies outta the running. And yeah, these opterons are fun as Hell, but run hot as a mother. :p

I used CPUFSB to OC mine to 2.3 ghz and added an extra second to my time. I rebooted and OCed in the BIOS and that extra second went away, as well as an additional second. :p

What are your RAM timing? I've got mine at 2.5-4-4-11.
