Dying Light: The Beast

Yeah it is quite a bit harder than the original, plus you level way way slower too. They did patch the biters always grabbing you though, that was annoying they were always grabbing me. The game is really smooth though, I can spin really fast to look behind me.

Techland is once again adding a lot of cool features post-launch: ray-tracing, visual upgrades, QoL improvements etc...why even bother buying a Dying Light game at launch when it always gets significantly better months later...

I assume this one is worth getting, yes?
Is it in good shape in terms of stability and core features working? Its on sale on Steam so Im tempted to pick it up.

I actually enjoyed this more than DL2. I quite hated DL1, DL2 I enjoyed but found parts annoying. The Beast is a bit more toned down in some ways, but still quite good. It is shorter but still long. Took me probably 40 hours, I did not find it too grindy. It is more focused in terms of its story despite there being side missions they did not take up too much time. Guns are a bit annoying to get but once you get them I did not have much of an issue finding ammo.

I had some minor nitpicks but on the whole I enjoyed it. I think it is quite good. I had no major bugs or performance issues. I had little minor bugs as well.

Unusual, I believe most folks would say DL1 was the best by far. But I can understand how certain games just don't grab folks. I think Fallout New Vegas is by far the worst of the series.... I'm in the vast minority.

Bugs, and other game design things. I quite hated it but do realize it did have some small details DL2 lacked. DL2 was good but some things were just designed to be frustrating, like side quests popping up on the map, then disappearing the moment you got close. I enjoyed the city designs. The parkour could have been cleaned up a bit as falling could set you back 5-7 minutes or more at times, finding the right way to start you climb again would take too long. But the parkour sequences in the sky scrapers was fun.

DL: TB did a good job of shortening it, keeping things focused, and not feel unnecessarily grindy. I also thing the shooting was quite good, better than some dedicated shooters. Makes me wish they could make a full on shooter.

with the Dying Light games it's always best to wait awhile before buying as they add so much new content which improves the game in substantial ways...

Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land Edition

Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land includes the full game, all post-release content and new Restored Land content...in the new Restored Land content, neither enemies nor loot respawn and thus the world is persistent...killing all zombies in an area restores the map to its pre-apocalyptic state...plus, there are competitive vehicular challenges called Roadkill Rallies, an optional One Life option for Restored Land that wipes your save file if you die

Restored Land launches on March 26th and is free for existing players of Dying Light: The Beast...

I'll probably try it out eventually with all of the additional content & patches. My first attempts only lasted so long due to crashes at launch plus some patches on Linux.

Windows 11 for me, but very stable. Unless there are some issues with Linux the build from ~2 months ago was quite good.
