Dusting yoru case ?

Is it okay to use one of those spray dusters on my PC to get dust out ? I have a crapload of dust in my case and want to clean it out . Its mainly on my heatsink (tuniq 120) and I want to clear it out . Is this okay ?

the spray would only move the dust away, it just doesn't make it disappear, so i suggest to u to have a vacuum cleaner at hand

Like canned air you mean? If you take the Tuniq out you'll be able to clean it pretty well w/o spreading the dust all over your case, otherwise yeah, might wanna keep a vacuum and some Swiffer at hand, heh. Just don't spray the canned air w/the nozzle too close to the system, sometimes a lil' residue sprays out.

I use some old foam cleaner from back home that isn't electrically conductive for the outside of the case, cleans up nicely. I just use compressed air to blast the filters and the inside, then hoover up the surviving dust bunnies.

I usually blast the dust out using canned air while simultaneously sucking up the loose dust with a vacuum. I find this works better than using each tool by itself.

I actually bought a big automotive air tool compressor and keep it in the garage just for dusting out machines. Then again, I work on PC's professionally. I normally run the air out to the back yard and blow that dust to kingdom come. If you go that way, make sure to get an air nozzle that has a really long tip. Better to keep you further away from the pending dust cloud that will come out.

You must have an even more dusty house than me, though, I do need to get myself an air compressor. How many cans of air do you go through? Every weekend seems a bit excessive.

I live is Arizona nothing but dust.

I made my case and it's very easy to dust so it only takes a few seconds, I bought a 3 pack around November and I have 2 left so it doesn't really use much. Also I'm always in my computer taking it apart and rearranging it so I dust it when ever I do that as well.

I use an Aero Bed air pump. I bring it in the garage and blow away. The air is pretty powerful too with the concentrated nozzle.

That's about how I extract dust out of PCs. If you're worried about dust cloud afterwards, take the PC outside to dust it.
