Duke Nukem has a release date and a new trailer to go along with it. Blue's News also has info on how to get your hands on the playable demo when it comes out. Thanks to everyone that sent this one in.

Here's the official announcement of the just revealed plan to release Duke Nukem Forever on May 3, 2011 in North America, and May 6, 2011 in Europe. This includes word on how to qualify for the demo: "Players looking to get access to the Duke Nukem Forever playable demo before it is publicly released can join the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club. A membership certificate for the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club is included within the Borderlands™ Game of the Year edition.

It'll be released for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 which just means that it'll be another shitty console port on the PC...

I want to see someone with a 13 year old preorder receipt pick up a reserved copy. :D

I'm kinda glad i picked up Borderlands GOTY Edition. Besides the fact that I had some fun gaming with my friends. I get to find out how awful/disappointing DNF will be, first hand, without buying the game.

According to Gearbox, development of DNF was completed on the PC and ported to consoles. Not sure where you heard otherwise. There are definitely some negatives about multi-platform games, but the PC version of DNF is not a console port.

At least it won't have any bugs in it....right? I mean after all this time I'd think they'd get it all ironed out. :D

Right. It started development on the PC like 13 years ago. Back when the consoles would have fried trying to run something like this.

If it came to only consoles, I'll be pissed. It would show that the developers of DNF had been sitting on their asses all these years doing nothing, seeing how they started on this project 3 or 4 console generations ago.

Duke Nukem was one of by favorite PC games back in the day. Duke Nukem Forever may not look epic, but I'm in for one (for the PC)!

Now if they only made a Full Throttle sequel I would be a happy gamer...

I'm skeptical about how good the game is going to be. For one thing, what we've seen graphically from it shows the game is antiquated technologically. I can only imagine this factors into the game play as well. I'm hoping I'm wrong on that, but it's hard not to look at the game through biased eyes. Even if the game is relatively good comments like "It wasn't worth the 13 year wait." are inevitable. So perception of it will likely be biased negatively no matter what.

Wasn't there someone on here that posted that they finally got a refund after like 10 years...just 3 years short of the final release =(

Reminds me of Diablo 2 where the game started with 5 year old graphics and looked better as you progress. Daikitana was the same way.

Well at least it should have a decent pinball game. I recall reading they spent an entire year on a working pinball machine in the game.

Just my own supposition given past game releases. I'll save real judgment if/when it's released. ;)

Haha.. I hope so! :p

I still find myself wanting this game even after so many years... Hail to the king, baby.

I still have my massive PC box that Full Throttle came in. I want to rock some rival biker gangs again in that game. Damn that game brings back the fondest memories of gaming ever!

Reading your post, I couldn't help but realize I've never even bothered to listen to all of Chinese Democracy...

So finally time to dust off the 10 year old preorder reciepts? :p I wish I had preordered it years ago just to try and take it to the store on release day to redeem.

We can all hate on it for goofs. But you know we'll all be there buying it, just because.

I mean, its Duke FFS. Most of us were probably around when it was originally supposed to be here, so cmon. Its gonna be legendary :)

No doubt, the ten year olde pre-order receipts are still valid. It's that CompUSA Circuit City point of origin thing that be a bit of a problem. :p

I'm still using my Duke Nukem mousepad, which came with Duke Nukem 3d back in 1996 or whenever it was.

Would be nice if Duke Nukem Forever came with a mousepad as well, this thing needs to be replaced.

My overall feeling on this game is put up or shut up. We've endured the hype and broken promises for over a decade, just release the damn game and let it stand or fall on it's own merits.
