It's rumored to have a 4.3" screen
Are you the Verizon rep or a friend going after a laugh?
You have seen my video right? I'm not making this up. the autoscroll issue happens to me multiple times in every brosing session. Its more than possible, I assure u.

Does that look staged to you? Its happened on all 3 DROIDs.
Or just do what I did and switch to the iPhone. it works and works great. Best phone I've used so far. Jodiuh and I both went through multiple storms and tours so I hate to feel his pain with going through multiple droids now. Your local verizon store has to hate seeing you.
AT&T needs to make a commercial that has a bunch of crashing and ask is there a phone for that and just show Verizon's phones. hehe. Anyways, hope you get it resolved without having to switch over to the dark side Jodiuh.
From my understanding with talking to my verizon rep today, he wanted to know why I switched carriers to which I gave him the detailed list of issues I had with my storms and tours which he knew of, as well as my recent rash of billing problems with verizon which is what really turned me away from them and to AT&T. His response was that the latest smartphone offerings from verizon were plagued with numerous issues and he wasn't recommending any of them to county employees due to a variety of issues which were both software and hardware related depending on which phone you chose. He then had the audacity to ask me to come back and he would get me a free Samsung Rogue or EnV Touch which were the two phones he was recommending. I havent played with the droid at all and only knew one person who got one and he took his back, but it seems there are just as many problems with the Droid as there were with the Storms, or could this just be an anomaly for certain areas to have so many problems it seems?
I actually feel as though the DROID's screen width is too small. The iPod touch may have a technically smaller screen, but it sure felt wider...and thus easier to read in portrait.IMO any bigger than the Droid is too big..
I did see the smiley, but I'm a bitter Jod right now.Easy , I believe you . I should not have joked like that.

Picked up a droid after work today and all I can say is wow. I'm coming from a Blackjack 2 with WinMo 6.5. I'm glad I didnt hold out for one of the new WinMo phones coming out.
I have lots of friends with iPhones, and I can safely say this thing is much better(imo).
Is there an update out yet?
Congrats!. Though a BlackJack is not what what I'd compare the Droid too. The Touch Pro 2 is much stiffer competition. Love mine.
My growing concern for the last 3-4 days has been the slider. I'm already seeing a deterioration in the mechanism. I'll reach in my pocket and it's 1/4 to 1/2 way open. This happens maybe twice a day currently for the last few days.
What really starts to concern me is that just slight opening of the slider and the screen comes on. Maybe I need to consider a good belt clip, but I hate that. I am definitely a pocket kinda guy.
Just got a video response to my youtube DROID scrolling problem and thought I'd share w/ some of you as it's much more clear than mine.
Droid wild scrolling issue when tapping the screen
You know what though, we're all so very different. What works for some, doesn't for others. The best advice I could ever possibly give would be to try one out yourself. Judging by your post, it looks like you've got one and have been made happy. Congrats!

Sometimes I had issues with my Droid not connecting to Slacker as well. I'm wondering if this is a Droid issue, or if Slacker just needs to be updated.Only complaint is that slacker radio can be quirky sometimes, but that's about it.

Spoiler alert, I dumped the Droid for the Eris. I know it's slower, there's no physical keyboard, and it's not 2.0 (for now). In the end, I like the sleak form factor, Sense UI, and trackball. You heard me right, I really enjoy the trackball, I don't get it because I never had one prior to Android.
I went to BB Mobile, reset my droid, exchanged it, got my refund and left a happy man thanks to no re-stocking fee and instant rebates.
As long as you are happy with your phone that's all that matters. I love the Droid and glad I got it over the Eris. I really liked the size and shape of the Eris and that it has the track ball and physical call buttons. If the Droid had the physical call buttons and a few bug fixes/changes I think it would be the perfect phone.
Okay, I actually have come across one annoying bug with the Droid, in relation to email:
If the email client is in the process of refreshing, and the phone switches from 3G to WiFi, the email client just sits there with the spinning refresh logo, not retrieving any email. However, if I drop down to the folders view, the Inbox will say it has X new messages, even though going into the Inbox doesn't show them. The only way to fix it is to kill the email client and restart it, but then I don't get any notifications anymore. However, if I can somehow managed to get the email client to crash (which sometimes happens if I turn the WiFi off and back on when it's stuck on its spinning refresh loop), and relaunch it, notifications work fine, and it'll work until the next 3G -> WiFi switch.
The thing is, the Droid seems to really like switching off the WiFi when it goes idle, so when I turn the phone back on, it'll switch from 3G to WiFi- and often right in the middle of an email check, so this is happening pretty frequently. It's pretty annoying, but hopefully the December 11th update will fix it.
Did Verizon cripple this phone like they crippled the Razor so you can't upload your own ringtones?

Actually the iPhone's screen IS physically wider. Also, the Droid has a narrower aspect ratio, making the screen feel even more cramped. The saving grace is that the Droid's screen is much higher resolution.
