Dragonborn Add-on for Skyrim Arrives in February

Great DLC actually. First DLC since Dragon Age Awakenings that actually feels like a proper expansion.

About damn time. This platform exclusivity period shit needs to stop.

Oh, it's not stopping. It's increasing!

But yes, I agree with you. This DLC shouldn't even have had any exclusivity since the original contract stated the exclusivity was only for the first two DLC (or so we were told). I guess Microsoft must've shoved some more cash in Bethesda's hands.

Not buying it until the platform exclusivity stops. Entire thing lost my interest.

One thing which they never explain in Skyrim is how the players father did a dragon...

But anyway. I don't really get the point of exclusivity for an addon pack... do they think people will go out and reduy the singleplayer game on the Xbox rather than wait 30 days?

You know how guys are...so long as there is a hole....

Dovahnality. "I was once an adventurer like yourself, then I took a Dragondick to the knee...."

Not stopping as long as it remains financially advantageous for both parties. As we: Microsoft and GTAIV - 75 million went to Take-Two Interactive to not only kill PS3 exclusivity but make the first two DLC's timed exclusives for the 360 . That game was responsible for zillions of 360 console sales alone.

Who the hell blows $200-300 on a console just to play a $30 game 30 days early?

People who push these exclusives are delusional about an impact on console sales

Apparently a lot of people. And $60 game. I lost count of the # of friends that went and bought 360's because they had to have GTAIV - it was thee killer app at the time and its reflected in the record sales it generated.

Actually, it's not 30 days early, it's all together, because it wasn't released on PS3, and most console window lickers won't man up to a real PC for gaming (which is the only other option it was available).

Elder scrolls game have really intriguing story and world but the game play it self is what I can never get into. It always feels a little broken to me. I always end up getting the new Elder scrolls game because my friends say its sooo good and its better than the last. I always play just 1hr or so of it and never play it again. The DLC looks cool but I will probably never buy it ever.

Disappointing. The first few hours are normally boring, you have to get a few levels under your belt before anything cool happens.

Not giving Beth a fucking cent until they stop this exclusive DLC shit

I'll buy this when its $2.50 on steam a year and a half from now

I think it's fairly obvious that the PC version will be scads better than the console versions--both of them. This is probably a move calculated not to piss off the xBox crowd, at least the small percentage of them who understand how superior the PC version of Skyrim is. PS3 owners will, at release, simply be grateful for something being released for their particular console. (I actually bought a PS3 years ago because of the built-in BluRay drive, but the drive mechanism was so fragile and wonky I exchanged it for a much-better stand-alone BR player.)

Also--when people say "This is the third DLC for Skyrim," to what are they referring? Even though Steam lists it as such, imo the Bethesda "Hi-res texture pack"--available at no cost to anyone--hardly qualifies as true DLC. Besides Dawnguard, which I skipped because the whole vampire thing is terrifically corny and unoriginal, that just leaves the upcoming Dragonborn--which I probably will get. So isn't that *two* actual DLC programs available for Skyrim thus far? What am I missing?...;)

Heartfire, you can build your own house (could do this months before via mod), get married, and adopt kids. Kind of meh.

Not that there is much on those sales these days...most hot titles stay off of them of late.

Actually I've noticed two things about the Steam sales: 1) At some point the game you want probably will be a part of the sale (even if it was only released two weeks ago) whether as a part of the regular daily sale or a flash sale and 2) the frequency with which the sales happen tend to make publishers keep their older titles at higher prices so that they can offer them for 75% off during the sales and make the more clueless among us think they're getting a great deal.

Point 1 is fun because it always means the forums will be clogged with people who bought the game two weeks ago at release and are upset because "I thought there was no way such a new game would be part of the sale."

I finally broke down a bought dawnguard, for $14.99, i think it was cheaper during xmas. I can wait for dragonborn. Just last night, finally got dawnguard to play nice with my 40+ mods and not CTD every 40 mins. Not all bethesdas fault, but still a pain in the ass.

My God--they actually released that? *facepalm* Thanks for reminding me, guys...;) Ugh! (No wonder I completely forgot about it.)

Well in Skyrim, they actually did combat a little better. However, the story and lore was rather non-existent. The combat still sucks if you don't mod it, and unfortunately there's not much modders can do to fix their lackluster linear quest lines and awful dialogue.

These games get a lot better once you get further into them. Starting out kind of sucks... but I would NEVER play them on a console. Controlling a FPS RPG with a gay controller and no ability to mod is a killer.

Yea it really shows you who their target audience is with the latest TES game.
