Dragon Age: THE VEILGUARD

Wow some pretty jumpy animations..
It's only in alpha. This is why devs don't like leaks like this because people jump to conclusions thinking this is what the final game will look like. The game is probably still a year away from being finished.
What's with the character constantly saying "There's worse than.." in each scene?
Don't have any other assets recorded yet, probably, or at least ready to be implemented into the game at this point.

Yesterday's BioWare studio update left fans of the studio feeling very anxious about Dragon Age: Dreadwolf but BioWare General Manager Gary McKay tried to assure the public that the layoffs of 50 employees wouldn't meaningfully affect the final development stretch of the fourth mainline installment in the Dragon Age series, but his words rang a bit hollow among the community

insider Jeff Grubb shared additional insight from his sources at BioWare/EA on the outlook of the next Dragon Age game: "I expect this game to launch probably by the end of 2024. But why launch it at the end of next year when you could move it to the last EA fiscal quarter, which ends in March 2025? This thing could keep moving. Again, Summer 2024 is what they're looking at at the earliest"

So possibly a 2025 release? I’m actually at that point in life where there’s no guarantee that I’ll even be alive to play that.

If they aren't even doing a full reveal (whatever that means in their eyes) until next summer, we're looking at a 2024 holiday release at the earliest. 2025 seems likely.

BioWare has dropped a new teaser for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, offering fans a brief glimpse at some of the locales that will appear in Dreadwolf, including Antiva, Rivain, the Anderfels, and the Grey Warden headquarters of Weisshaupt Fortress

full reveal Summer 2024...

that was a pretty cool teaser...great voiceovers and I liked the images of the various areas on the map...hopefully this turns out to be a return to form for BioWare

Update/reveal supposedly coming soon. Xbox and PS Store have had this added to their coming soon pages.

I'm reading June 9th will be the reveal.

To be released this year.

"Welcome to Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Enter the world of Thedas, a vibrant land of rugged wilderness, treacherous labyrinths, and glittering cities – steeped in savage combat and secret magics. Now, the fate of this world teeters on a knife's edge," says the synopsis. "Thedas needs a new leader; one they'll never see coming. You'll forge a courageous fellowship to challenge the gathering storm. Friendship, drama, and romance will abound as you bring striking individuals together into an extraordinary team. Become the leader and light the beacon of hope in their darkest moments."

I wonder what's happening on June 9th? :D

Answer: Xbox Showcase

I hear this year's Summer Game Fest is going to be disappointing while the Xbox show is going to be much better overall

June 9th isn't too far away I wonder if this will be an Epic exclusive that Orgin launcher sux I lost two or three save files from inquisition.

That one was my favourite though. And they completed production in a crazy short period of time, if I recall.

Really? Wow. I think it was pretty clearly finished quickly. There were only like 3 dungeons and they repeated over and over again with the doors in different places.

I liked Varis a lot, and I also thought the combat, being much more immediate than the original, was vastly superior. But maybe if I went back to it I wouldn’t think that. It could be that DA2 just gave me a dose of what I needed for that period of my life.

They changed the name of the game to Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Gameplay will be revealed on June 11. The article below shares some more details on the story and game design.

I love this universe. The gameplay reveal will be hugely important. I don’t care about the ‘talent’ that has left the studio. They weren’t actually that talented.

I never played and finished any any of these games hoping this one is good Orgins was too cramped for maps while Inquisition kept losing my save file.

Hope they show something grand Stuck at work. Only good news today was the bonus. Which would pay for all my games for 3 years or more.

Here is the director of the latest DA game, a self professed "queerosexual gendermancer"

https://blog.bioware.com/2022/05/27/developer-story-corinne-busche/

And the idea of being who you want to be carries a particularly special meaning for Corinne. “As a queer trans woman,” she says, “I have a perspective on the games that not everyone has. Dragon Age has long been a place where LGBTQIA+ folks can see people like themselves, represented respectfully. It’s inherently very queer, and it’s such a rare thing for marginalized communities to have representation where we feel proud and powerful in how we are depicted. It’s so deeply meaningful for so many. I often get emotional when I think about what it would have meant for a younger version of myself to see someone like her in a game, and as a hero, no less. I hope we can be a safe place for our queer players to know they are not alone, that they are brilliant and worthy, that they are not only welcome but celebrated.”
Good luck DA fans, won't be surprised if what you get is more like a fetish simulator than a D&D type RPG.

Gotta say, I absolutely despise the new art style. It looks like fucking Overwatch instead of Dragon Age. Nothing about the trailer felt like a Dragon Age game.

I'm normally not bothered by this style of art for games (Dishonored 1/2 are still beautiful games imo), but it's absolutely jarring for a new Dragon Age title when the previous entries had a more realistic look. 'Clair Obscur' announced at the Xbox games show looks more like what I'd expect a new Dragon Age to look like.

Hilarious moment in the trailer at 55 seconds:

"What about Darkspawn?"
A black character fades into the picture.
