*EDIT* BioWare fixed this in patch 1.1. Great customer support IMO.

Cutscenes are just black screen with the audio. Same for dialog in game, which means you can't choose what you are selecting to respond with.

Oh well, back to LOTRO until someone figures it out.

@ all eyefinity people trying to play games like that.

STOP IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just get a large single monitor, and be happy and content, and no black borders mucking up your view.

i sort of agree here. i could not stand having black lines running up/down/diagonally across my screen. i would take a smaller single screen over that any day.

Why settle for one large monitor when you can have three?

continuity

If it was for regular web browsing cad and desktop type work, then that is great, but for a game I would prefer a single unified panel. I could deal with a screen break due to bezel for another browser window, but for a game? Not for me.

Need something larger, just go for a tv instead.

If you don't like Eyefinity fine, but don't troll threads about it. The op has a legitimate issue and unlike you morons he is contributing the forums by telling people about it.

Try playing around with the aspect ratio since Kyle mentioned that some games will work if 16:9 is used.

Btw a larger monitor will display exactly the same image as a smaller monitor but with a bigger scale. Eyefinity adds more than just a bigger image, you can see more at the sides which you still can't see on a bigger monitor. The centre monitor will display the same thing that you will see on a single large monitor but with a smaller scale, the side monitors will add more image that you will never see even if your monitor size is 100".

Just look at this pic. You can see yourself what you can gain from a 30" monitor if you are using a 24" monitor and what you can gain from two more 24" monitors.

meh, if you like black lines cutting your games up into slices then thats great. but i think a better title for this thread would be eyefinity=fail.

Because you're throwing the baby out with the bathwater. You're skipping an awesome game because you decided to go with a bleeding edge previously untested technology and missing what you bought your computer for in the first place -- RPG gaming I surmise if you're playing Dragon Age and LOTRO.

EyeFinity rocks, but it is not for everyone, and some games will not likely translate well to it, technical issues notwithstanding.

= [H].

1. I've played pc games on my 60 inch plasma before. As prior posters have said, it's just stuff "bigger" which is not what I want.
2. I put all of my HUD on the center screen in games, but the side monitors make the games a lot more immersive. You don't really notice the bezels because you aren't "splitting" the normal screen: you are augmenting the normal view with additional peripheral information.
3. I made the thread to let people know that there are issues with the game and eyefinity. I don't really care all THAT much about what you think of the technology.
4. I'm not skipping out on the game. I'm just patient enough and have enough games in my backlog(thanks steam weekend deals) that I can wait for a fix to play it in what I consider the best environment.

As others have said, your not really gaining that much by just increasing the screen size.

Adding more screens allows you to see more. Those side screens fill your natural peripheral vision with images from the game so your using much more of your vision, If you see something happening out of your peripheral vision what do you do? You move your eyes and if its important you turn your head. Same thing applies in a game so your still primarily using the center screen so the bezels do not matter.

You can also put the two side monitors slightly behind the center one removing most of the bezel.

Sucks that it does not work with that game yet, I wonder if its something that can easily be added with a patch.

Who say's he has to skip a game? Just turn off EyeFinity for this one for now and play on one monitor...

= a real [H] user review of his/her experience.

I tired dual monitors, once, just for the extra map in SupCom. I don't think it was worth it, but some people may like it more (especially on a RTS).

I loved that about SupCom, my left monitor was always on my base in topographical view to save FPS and keep my eyes there. My main screen went off to whatever needed my attention most.

Games outside of that and perhaps a flight sim are useless with 2 screens as the split is down the middle where important things happen.

World in Conflict had that, too, but I didn't like the game much outside of the campain. I'm still keeping my old lcd monitor for any good application that may make use of it, though.

If you can, try Eyefinity portrait mode. I changed from landscape to portrait this weekend and I am getting better results with the portrait mode.

Playing at 3240x1920 (5870) in Dragon Age works flawlessly. As previously stated, while playing a game, bezels are not a noticable issue.

I guess there are pros and cons to everything, but I think I would go nuts having monitor borders breaking up my picture vs. simply buying one huge ass monitor and calling it a day but hey...variety is the spice of life. Everyone wins, right? :)

try playing a game with it.. 5 minutes into the game and you wont even notice the bars.. its all in your brain.. once you start focusing on the image everything around the image disappears..

what's with all the multi monitor hate? Isn't this [H]??? C'mon your eyes adjust and you don't notice the gap after a while.

What I want to know is how some of you all do this without serious eye strain. ;)

I have a 24 inch monitor and I think it's about all I could handle at the "normal desktop" viewing distance situation.

Granted, I've always had very sensitive eyes. :)

The games dont actually render more visual space though, right? It just renders what it would normally render, at a higher resolution, but doesnt stretch the FOV of actual games like your screenshots show.

Agreed on all points. Just set up my 3x1 (28"x30"x28") and it's astounding how much more immersive it is in games.

On the topic of Dragon Age, I'm not delaying playing this game -- I'm just doing it now on my single 30". I'll go back after the Eyefinity issues are resolved to replay in triple monitor glory.

There's a thread over at WSGF on this: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17259

They devs are aware of the issue and it will likely be corrected in a patch.

No, there is more FOV in landscape mode. Portrait mode there is more FOV too, just not that much more..

That's right, you will have a larger image with a larger resolution but you will be seeing the same image like on a smaller monitor.

Btw, whenever someone said a larger monitor would be better than eyefinity, please feel free to prove them wrong by posting the picture.

I've never had any issues with my eye sight and I've been glued to a screen for most of my life. Even in dark rooms and all...

Incase you are running steam, There was an update for it today.

There's no word on a general release for these fixes, nor do I see mention of them on the official forums, site, or Twitter account...

* Fixed potential corruption of character statistics
* Fixed portrait appearance sliders when importing a character from the downloadable Character Creator
* Fixed import for preset face settings from the downloadable Character Creator
* Made Easy difficulty easier
* Slightly increased attack, defense, and damage scores for all party members at Normal difficulty
* Fixed video issues when running on a very wide screen display, including ATI Eyefinity displays

Big one is the last fix
