Singe and I have been on a roll, we are something like 5-1 over the last six.:D
 
Single draft seems to be pretty fair, and I've had lucky trios.

That player kept calling me Traxex, not singe or drow. I knew that one but I'm storing the Valve canon names in my head and then have to add Blizzard ones when I never played? Ouch.

Just to make sure, in the laning phase should a "support" Shadow Shaman initiate with the shackles on a full health opposing carry and expect the ally carry to swoop in, come hell or high water? And SS may be oom.

My rule is to not waste a disable unless it accomplishes something. In this case:
1. Shackle if your creep wave will focus on the hero and do some damage (but Lightning might be a better way to harass).
2. Shackle if you have a teammate there who will hurt/kill the enemy, or can chain disable so you can both attack. There isn't enough info in your scenario to see if this is relevant.
3. Shackle after dropping wards.
4. Shackle to allow an ally to escape.

Since you were out of mana, it's all about cost analysis. Is the risk worth the reward? Will your lack of mana mean you might die in a counter-attack, since Rhasta is so slow? If there's no risk, then go for it. If there is, then don't. Rhasta is too weak to be caught somewhere w/o a disable ready.

Agreed. They also need Reverse and Same Hero modes. And they need to bring back my Techies!
 
Anyone have a key they want to give or trade away? I've never played DOTA and don't really want to buy a game I might never play. Nor do I want to explain to the wife why there's another charge to Valve Software.

$15 is too much for a game that I might not like especially when it will eventually be F2P. I thought that the items were only cosmetic; if that's the case then they are worth exactly $0 to me. :p

I have some games to trade if someone wants to trade a key/copy (Sniper Ghost Warrior Gold, Halflife, Trine 2).
 
If any items in game start giving attributes or advantages I'm dropping Dota that very second. That's what ruined TF2 for me also.
 
Dota is way too competetive for cosmetical items to give you attributes or advances. Even valve has admited this.

What goes to tf2, the items other than plain and oringinals are really double edged swords. They are better and worse items at the same time.

You ought to ward a lot as pudge if you wanna good amount of kills. Bought maybe 10-12 sets of wards in that game :p
Nice to hook from high/low ground when you got the vision.
 
If you're playing against Pudge and you don't ward, you deserve to die. Always use creeps as meat-shields, and move around a lot.

I have been absolutely destroying people. especially with carry Sven. Just rush a mask of madness, then a bkb its hilarious in team fights to watch their entire team take chunks out of their hp do to cleave.

took me a minute to get on it... i am not used to her. when i played HoN valkyre which is the same as mirana, her arrow traveled much quicker. mirana's is hella slow it seems like.

I tried to play DOTA 2 the other day. I lasted maybe 2 minutes? The pace of the game is waaaaay to slow. Maybe it gets better later, but it was mind numbingly boring just moving around.
 
You abandoned your game after 2 minutes? It's probably not a good idea to go back.

its much slower then games like HoN. there is a reason for that too.


the pace of the game is perfect. and it really shows when team fights happen. because you can tell what is happening..

laning phase is probably the least exciting

Had some good games last night with Bently and then with Dremic and his crew.

Still need lots more practice, but I will say I agree with Dremic in that not playing all pick forces you to play a diverse group of heros to learn them all. Even if you don't like a hero it is important to know what they do.

Dremic crapped on kids last night in the two games we played.
 
Furiak in steam, trying to play this more coming over from LoL -- stopped playing that a while ago

a lot more technical and versatile I think - and no 'I need to be level 30 before I can actually enjoy the game on an even field' -- the heroes in dota 2 seem much more interesting than LoL as well
