I thought I was seeing a rebound in my PPD, thanks to the return of the "black bead" Gromacs work units (can't recall the point value, something like 364?). My little home farm was *finally* showing higher than 1500 points per day predicted by EM3.

Life was good. :)

Then, this thing showed up:

I've got five of these timesuckers! The one above is on a X2 4400+, second is on the other core, the rest scattered across AXPs and a 754 A64. Anyone else seeing the dismal times shown in the pic?

They are monsters all right. Here is my log.

Yeah, I have one on my P4 2.8 at work. I can't tell right now what it's putting out in points, but it's not much.at all. About the only thing saving the PPD on this box is the tinker I have running as a second instance.

I know I was used to bigpacket gromacs and QMDs for a while, but ever since the end of the QMD's it seems the PPD values of regular gromacs has done in the crapper. I can get better PPD on timeless tinkers than I can on regular gromacs and this is across the board including PIII's, Athons up the the XP's and P4's. I find something seriously wrong with that. It's no suprise on the Athlons and PIII's, but it's a major surprise on the P4's.

It has gotten to the point where I will only run timeless on my Athlon boxen. Sorry, but when I can pull about 50-100% more PPD with tinkers, I'm going to do so.

Wow, that is a rough ppd. I normally just leave the default configuration on the console, but I'm wondering if I should now go around to my slower computers and make sure they are configured to timeless. With these things taking this long on your X2 it's really going to push the envelope on a 400mhz Celeron. I wouldn't change all of the computers, since these things still need to get folded - even if we don't like the ppd.

I've got 6 of them at the moment on my X2's.
At 2.4Ghz they are running @ 6.2-6.5 point per hour.
Or @2.6 PpHpG.
So I'm doing them in around 60-65 hours depending on exactly which one I've got.

They're not as good as the batch of Big Gromacs that got released.
They got folded at @16 points per hour.

Luck......... :D

My dualie at work has been getting a substantial amount of these. I got lucky and fell into the 364 pointers though, turned in like 9 of those in the last 2 days. These monsters though, they're going to hammer PPD.

Yeah I've got a few of them. One is on 2.8 ghz p4 going at about 120 ppd. Another on a 3.2 ghz is at about 134 ppd.

I got 3 of them here at work :(
Time/WU= 95, 105 and 107 hours :(

FOR THE HORDE

I have one of them running at home right now....I don't know what my PPD is on them though because I force myself to keep a safe distance from the "nitty-gritty" specs, for fear that if I get too entrenched into folding I'll become obsessed :)

roftranspo---Should your sig say "HTPC?"

Here's one on my P4 2.66 here at work....

58+ min a frame..... ugh

Keep on Folding!! For the [H]orde!!

Am I the only one here who's getting them to run fast ??????

p2110, 376 points, 34:32 mins/frame, 156 PpD.
p2117, 412 points, 39:44 mins/frame, 149 PpD.
p2118, 412 points, 40:05 mins/frame, 148 PpD.
p2119, 408 points, 42:42 mins/frame, 137 PpD.
p2120, 408 points, 39:39 mins/frame, 148 PpD
p2121, 408 points, 38:53 mins/frame, 151 PpD
p2122, 408 points, 38:24 mins/frame, 153 PpD.
p2122, 408 points, 37:16 mins/frame, 157 PpD.

All on 4200's @ 2.41Ghz with 1 gig memory per core.

p2113, 376 points, 49:24 mins/frame, 109 PpD on a 2.0Ghz MP.
p2120, 408 points, 47:43 mins/frame, 123 PpD on a 2.1Ghz MP.

I dont think these are to bad as I've seen a lot worse protiens to fold.

Luck......... :D

No you're not, I'm running 2117 at 34:55 a frame and 2123 at 38:31 a frame on the rig in the sig...

Those times look about right. It’s pretty obvious Stanford has once again “adjusted” the points system.

What I really miss are those wonderful 600 pointers that would fold at like 26 to 28 min per frame on my same machines.

To hell with the 600 pointers, the 364 pointers were much better. 300 PPD on my XP-m@2.5Ghz. The 600 pointers might do 275 if I was lucky.

i dont know...i dont speak any spanish what so ever....im from northern cali :)

and FUCK THOSE PROTESTS...but thats another forum entirely

damnit >_< i just got another big batch of these bastards on all of my home and work machines

FOR THE HORDE

Yeah my 2.4ghz lappy gets double gromacs and my 170 gets these nasty 400ish point gromacs. I'd much rather have it the other way around. The Dgro's were giving me MUCH better PPD on the 170 when i picked up a couple over the weekend.

There is a work around for that problem.
Set each box to the same user ID but each client to a different machine ID.

I call the folding directories F@H1, F@H2, ....., F@H8 and the machine ID corrisponds to the folder number.
Now you can swop two folding directories between boxen safely.

Luck.......... :D
