That is pretty neat as far as dev hardware goes. Not $2500 worth of neat, but it was worth the click.
I always wonder this for dev kits in general. Even if it is typical pc hardware with a few custom pieces it would still be nice to see.I agree neat but not $2500 neat. I wonder what the inside looks like
It uses a Power PC chip if I remember correctly.
The IBM-made PowerPC-based CPU codenamed "Gekko" used in the Gamecube was a custom chip made specifically for the Gamecube. IBM did make the line of PowerPC processors used in the line of Apple products known as "G3." Gekko is close to the 750CXe, but its custom instruction set and memory interface prevents it from being interchangeable with the processors used in Apple products.As in the same Power PC chips (at least from the same manufacturer) that Apple used to use before they switched to Intel (and now ARM based chips)
