If I see a D4 toon climb up or down a vine one more time.... (Pretty sure Decko is correct, this isn't new footage)
Honestly, this really doesn't look like what I want out of an ARPG.

Ha- @:53 it looks like new models using the same summoning circle... But the Goatmen circling for a good angle to attack looked really nice. The stuff at 3:30 looks awesome animated blood and it's not all floaty like most 3-D top down games.
I wonder when this game will come out.

Do you remember when everyone said Diablo 3 looked too colorful?I look forward to trying the Druid. A pet class with animals what I want in these games.
The colors could certainly be more vibrant. Everything is too drab right now.
Yes. The colors in Diablo 3 were fine. I know this is the result of the complaining, but I think it looks worse.Do you remember when everyone said Diablo 3 looked too colorful?
Well, here is the result. I think it looks great and fits the world.
Does it look worse? Were you happy with the colors in Diablo 1 & 2?Yes. The colors in Diablo 3 were fine. I know this is the result of the complaining, but I think it looks worse.
I think the issue most people really had with Diablo 3 was more the art style rather than the "colors" per se.Yes. The colors in Diablo 3 were fine. I know this is the result of the complaining, but I think it looks worse.
I really didn't like the fact that most of the enemies had shark mouths. It just looked lazy & uninspired.I think the issue most people really had with Diablo 3 was more the art style rather than the "colors" per se.
I never played those. I am simply comparing that I know from 3 to what has been shown of 4.Does it look worse? Were you happy with the colors in Diablo 1 & 2?
As much as I like Bob Ross, god rest his soul. I'm glad Diablo no longer looks like one of his paintings.
Blizzard has officially announced that Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 are not coming out this year.Is this still unofficially slated for this year?
They are certainly taking long enough. It has been nine years since Diablo 3, and seven years since Reaper of Souls. Yet, other franchises can have a new release every, or every other, year.Blizzard has officially announced that Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 are not coming out this year.
Well, those franchises generally speaking are a really different type of game. CoD basically thrives on the competitive FPS scene and lets be honest they change 5-10% of it (including minor graphical upgrades, new maps, and weps etc) and then sell it as a new product. They are certainly taking long enough. With all do respect, then you don't have an argument as to how Diablo 4 should look, keeping in tradition to a Diablo experience. Diablo 3 was a black sheep & was riddled with developer mishaps & content blunders, there's a reason why Jay Wilson hasn't done anything since Diablo 3. Though I will admit, Reaper of Souls was a step in the right direction once the new team took over.I never played those. I am simply comparing that I know from 3 to what has been shown of 4.
They didn't start working on Diablo IV until 2018. Not every gaming franchise needs to be like Call of Duty or Madden. They are certainly taking long enough. I like it. Sick and tired of the one meta that gets reused every single season, and when that meta is dictated by set bonuses instead of your actual class traits.Dear lord not that fucking convoluted skill tree crap again. They need an easier to follow skill progression ladder than that shit.
They should have started sooner. Ten years between releases is a bit much. They also should have released a couple of more full expansions for Diablo 3.They didn't start working on Diablo IV until 2018. Not every gaming franchise needs to be like Call of Duty or Madden.
Man, the weirdest thing for me about this is it felt like FOREVER between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3... But D3 to D4 seems like it's only been a few years. I swear time perception speeds up exponentially as you get olderThey should have started sooner. Ten years between releases is a bit much. The release of Reaper of Souls probably distorts that perception. It felt like playing an entirely new game when it came out.Man, the weirdest thing for me about this is it felt like FOREVER between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3... I'm personally not a fan of how rifting largely superseded the campaign. Rifting is fun, but I still prefer running through the campaign.I must be the only muther f*cker that liked the original release better with the trade store. So many different items. I do like the season's though....
Early combat in Diablo games is always really slow, things don't really speed up till you get near end game. A lot of the early levels of D2 and D3 are basically hitting things one at a time once every few seconds. I'm guessing it'll be similar here. The combat still looks really slow. At least the HUD is switchable and not only in compact mode.
Yeah - In the back of my mind I hope that is the case. Starting new seasons in D3 was always painful till level 60. I don't remember D2 all that much, been a long time for that one.Early combat in Diablo games is always really slow, things don't really speed up till you get near end game.
