Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

Anyone else get random what seems like stutters sometimes? I've noticed this since I got my 3770k. Afterburner says I am at a constant 60FPS, yet it looks like the game is lagging like crazy at times, is this just shitty netcode problems?

I get that plus random freezes. I play this on 2 completely different systems, the one in my sig, and an AMD FX 8350 / Radeon 6870 rig. Both systems have zero issues other than with D3. I can sometimes play for hours no problem. Then I do something as simple as portal to town and the game will freeze. I have to ctrl-alt-del and reboot the system because I can't kill D3 via the task manager since everything but the taskbar has gone grey. There is nothing in common between these two systems other than Windows 8 and the onboard Intel NICs. No overheating or bad PSUs. For whatever reason the Intel system freezes far more than the AMD one. Buggy game is buggy?

Nice. I really enjoyed watching your other video's and I'm definitely looking forward to see more. If possible, upload the three video's you mentioned in your post. ;)

The last one with the Keywarden and Elites sounds epic.

I managed to get 2 up. my 2:40 key run and my 125k + exp....I doubled the speed because the video was 20 minutes....also if you watch the video I died twice and took many routes that were just dumb. So if I played better I could probably get up to 150k maybe.

I looked for the video where I got my assed kicked and couldn't find it...went a little overboard with the recording.

Much more enjoyable watching at normal speed than 2x speed. Double speed just doesn't give me any sense of what is going on, although that might be because I'm less familiar with the Monk in general.

Thinking about getting back into this game. I deleted all my characters awhile back except for my two Barbs (one SC, one HC; both use Schaefer's Hammer, Andys, Lamentation) and deleted most of the gear too; I figured if I ever started again it would be a "fresh" start. My biggest problem right now is that I know literally NO ONE that plays this game except for the various people in this thread, and I haven't played with any of you before or anything.

Stuff like The Three Hundredth Spear and Schaefer's Hammer are perfect examples of what makes this game fun to me - stuff that synergizes with skills or works with other mechanics - and it's why I couldn't bring myself to delete them when I was purging my account of all the other BS. If I could find more items in that vein I'd be far more likely to play this game.

How in the hell is your spirit regenerating so fast in your key run?

How in the hell is your spirit regenerating so fast in your key run?

3 for Circular Breathing
3 for Inner Storm
1 for exalted soul
2 for Chant of Resonance
2.66 from gear

= 11.66 + 35% generation = 15.7 per second.

And when I hit with quickening it gives me 6+15 spirit + 35% so 28.35 per crit and my crit chance is above 50% so you could say I get 15 spirit per punch.

I can max out at around at 24 I think. but it drops my DPS a ton because I have to use 2 weak rings, 1 weak amulet, and 1 weak belt

3 for Circular Breathing
3 for Inner Storm
1 for exalted soul
2 for Chant of Resonance
2.66 from helmet
2.2 Stone of jordan
2.0 Old stone of jordan
2.2 Hellcat belt
1.7 amulet of forgot the name

= 17.5 x .1.35 = 23.625

I drop like 90k DPS in doing it so I don't.

I feel the same way but I didn't think anyone would watch to watch a 20 minute video...also I have other normal speed video's of the same build and play style. I have a 3.5 minute act 3 run and a 5 minute act 1 run the act 3 and act 1 wardens are just so hard for me to find every time.

I really miss being able to swap entire sets of gear using the tabs...
I sometimes forget what is where in my chest and have accidentally sold shit i intended to keep, such as high MF/GF gear or spirit regen gear.

You and everyone else who plays this game.

My first ask from this game is to fix the items.

My second ask from the game is to have at least 2 builds you can switch to on the fly and Ideally have multiple. Hold Crtl and hit 1 though 9 to change to your build.

I have 3 monk builds that I commonly use, while it doesn't take that much time to switch between them, they should have a button to save a skill configuration and a button to switch to a different item set.

This would work even better for my wizard as configuring a CM wizard and a Akon wizard has me switch pretty much every skill and about half my gear.

The concept wouldn't be that difficult.

Step 1: Build a setup hold shift and hit 'number' to save the build.
Step 2: It then puts a lock on each piece of gear so you can't sell it and a small number 1 in the top corner of each item that is a part of that set. So things like your shoulders will likely never change and thus end up having small numbers 1,2,3,4,5 for each of your build.
Step 3: Hit Ctrl 'number' to set build.

If you want them to take this seriously, you'll have to figure out how to do all this on a controller too =P

Not full gear swaps, but weapons:

Diablo 2, Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, PoE, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, etc...

Only full gear swap I know of is WoW.

I had very similar issue.
It went away with an update to my BIOS and Firmware and haven't had it since.

So last night my HC monk made it into inferno.

I pop into the auction house and they don't even have plans for the Dex Gloves so I had to buy the Vitality Gloves. Both Gold and Demonic essences are tight in HC so I could only afford to craft 2 things. I started with a Vitality Gloves...BOOM instant win.

210 - vitality - base
193 - Dex
77 - int
23% critical hit damage
10% crit chance
14 % magic find.

Now this isn't an amazing glove....but it is an amazing glove to get on your first craft and when your other gear is from hell and your sitting on 2000 gold.

Really digging HardCore. I'll be doing MP10 runs before I know it.

Yea i think i'll have to check out the Hardcore too before long. Your videos make me miss the gameplay.

Did y'all level on mp10 hardcore? At what point did you have to turn it down for fear of death?

I mp10ed for like 7 levels, then bumped it down. Once I hit 15, I gem rushed through nightmare and only really worried at lvls 50-53 before I got reduced level items. I grinded to 60 in act 3 sky crown, so I had really easy time finishing off hell.

I'm still in act 1 inferno, though I have the gear to safely run MP1. I find my farming rate to be faster in MP0 for now from gold drops and item sells alone. I need a new ring, a vile ward, and Innas vast expanse, then I'll finish off inferno and probably aim for MP2 infernal runs.

Yeah Game play (minus things like rubberbanding and bad / repetitive skills) is one thing Diablo 3 hit right on the money. If they didn't lock down their source we'd have some sick fucking Mods right now I just know it. (greed kept this game mediocre)

I'm stuck at the Skeleton King until I can get a full set of level 60 gear...I'm sure I can beat him now but I have lost too many characters at level 60 to go into a boss half assed.

I managed to do MP1 strait out of hell in order to get some demonic essence...Its a rough ride at MP1 so that is my max...Used Near Death Experience 2 times now god dam leapers are scary as shit in HC. Going to level up/gear/money up in the area's before Skeleton king on MP1 for a few days before moving on.

Aren't the Items and monsters at a lower level in act 1 on MP0 and MP1 bumps them up to level 63? I know this was the case for a while not sure if they changed that. If this still is the case it would be much better to farm at MP1.

Correct.

They're level 60 at MP0, then and in all acts in inferno, they're lvl 63 MP1 and higher, so there's quite a jump between Act1 MP0 and MP1 in terms of difficulty. I'm working on higher dps, but my killing speed in MP0 is so much faster, that I actually make more money in MP0 for now.

I'm a monk looking for people to level with or farm. Just got back in the game after about a year. Add me if you want I'll be on at night!

I may need to start a new toon on this game. Finished it once never played again but it seems to have made some progress.

Very stupid mistake on my part, belled a reflect mob without serenity up. I guess i boosted my dps too much without getting enough DR for it. It sucks cause I was making good progress on my DPS/EHP gains. Thats a 40 hour lesson to never engage without serenity.

Still I like the monk a lot, Tempest Rush is freakin awesome.

Also, when i start back up again, i have 3 mil in reserves, so the rush to 60 wont be as hard. Being my first HC char so far, it's good to know that the stash and gold stay

I really wish I could play hardcore. My internet is less than 1Mb and can be pretty inconsistent. Last thing I want is to suddenly drop internet for 30 or so seconds and come back dead... :(

The softcore mode is just fucking broken. I cant get an upgrade for less than 500mil which is beyond ludicrous.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKK

Lost Never :(
Looks like I'm done with hardcore for awhile

I died in greed picking up a legendary, dead man's legacy, in some tree poison. I was balling like 6 demonic essence in my inventory as well.

man this fucking blows my weekend plans have just changed.

Finally got my wizard to 60. I had been meaning to do it for the longest time and i just got back into playing this game. my monk main had been getting all kind of wiz set gear so i just kept it and leveled him. as soon as i hit 60 i had 10x as much damage after i put all the gear on.

My buddy and I started HC toons to change it up a bit, he went barb, I went witch doctor.

I already have high level wizard and monk, and didn't want to roll 2 barbs... been fun so far..up to lvl 12

It's crazy when you are all excited about a +1 change in anything, and you have basically no gold, lol

mother fucker. My game just crash and killed my hardcore character. I was already at level 32...pist as shit tacos right now....and I sold a wrong piece of gear for about 1billion less than it was worth...not my day.

Decided to fire up the game today and realized that my HC Barb was still in A2 Inferno. Played a bunch and got him into A3 - Belial was a quick fight but I think he took me down to about 15%(!) with that huge slam he does - but I was having quite a few uncomfortable moments due to shoddy resists and gear (profile is here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Aix-1131/hero/28781843 if interested).

I hadn't played since early December so today was my first real look at the various Archon crafting plans and I must say they are a nice addition. I bought the plans for Strength gauntlets and Strength spaulders with the tiny bit of gold that I had accumulated today, then had enough left over to craft 4 spaulders. My 4th roll got me a very nice upgrade, boosting me from my lowly 133/77/46/321 (STR/VIT/AR/Regen) to 222/119/101/75/115 (STR/INT/VIT/AR/Regen). I crafted 1 pair of gloves too and it was a nice upgrade, though it wasn't godly or anything.

I like where this is going. This crafting reminds me of gambling in D2, and I loved gambling in D2. I don't care if I get a ton of bad crafts; at least I know that each craft is going to be X Armor type w/ XX STR +5 mods. That I can live with. I also don't mind farming gold to do this activity (I couldn't stop myself from constantly running to town to sell stuff in D2, even though it killed all farming speed haha). Now to get the gold for the other plans...

You guys convinced me to start a new HC character - I remember HC being fun, just can't get any of my friends to follow me. Oh well, no matter. :)

Same! I'm starting a Witch Doctor now. I have a 19 Monk, but I want to do something a little different. I'll probably die like an idiot, I'm pretty bad at WD

It's not hard as long as you stack vit, int, and a gem in your weapon until you get into the low 50's. Then start looking for all resists. I have to do some retarded things to kill my WD and I have some of the worst gear in the world without vitality or resists in SC. My buddy built his WD like a tank and rarely died unless he was acting a fool.

I thought about giving it another go myself, but I sold my account and my internet is too terrible right now to do HC.

My internet is fine, but my connection from NC to CA or wherever Blizzard has their servers is shit. Minimum ping is 150 ms whereas in BF3 my ping was 23 ms yesterday. Plus since the last patch everything runs in slow motion on my screen when playing in a group. Also this hardcore resurgence is a fad. After about 4 deaths I wonder how many will still be hardcore. :)

Once you go HC, you don't go back. Real talk. If you make it to 60 and you do decent, you can't ever play SC again.

Might try it when the Playstation version comes out. Nephew says he would like to buy it then.

Well I don't own a Playstation so I would be playing it on my nephew's machine. He just moved in with me as all of them do when they mess up at home. So I was thinking the drop rate in the PS version would be increased because the lack of an AH. Or the drops would be more like the new crafted gear where you get a good roll on a main stat. Anyway I was just saying that it would be fun to try the game on the Playstation if it has any improvements over the PC auction house tycoon version.

You know you get most of your softcore gear off the AH. Even if you don't admit it openly. F random; save time and profit off someone else's luck. :p
