Hey so....I have a reaaalllyyyyy dumb question. Should I be using a follower to farm?

I always thought the MF got split so it was a bad idea to use one....but I noticed some of you dudes have hella awesome gear on yours...

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Anybody have tips on what items to shoot for from here? I think I'm into the realm where I either need to start getting a set or get a 50mil dollar item :(

Aside from my amulet and helm.

Crit damage on the weapons. These should not be expensive unless you're looking for the best of the best. I've seen Echoing Fury with crit or an open socket for a few hundred thousand to a couple million, but nowhere near 50 million as you said. Rings with crit and crit damage will set you back a few million. Check the auction house frequently for rings with those stats. If you wait patiently, you can luck out on some with primary stat, crit, and crit damage for under 7 million. If you're super lucky, you'll find some with life on hit for that much. Replace the armor and the pants with stuff that has maxed sockets, 3 for armor and 2 for pants. That should also not be too expensive. Cost goes up if you want double resist or vitality, so plan accordingly. Primary stat, all resist, 3 socket chest isn't too much. Primary stat, all resist, miscellaneous resist, 3 socket will cost more. +vita costs even more.

All that said and done should be under 50 million if you're patient.

Crit, crit damage, IAS increase damage substantially. All 3 on a single item will generally be way more than 50 million though.

EDIT: I just checked AH for items I mentioned here. I found tons. I limited max buyout to 1 million. Remember this. Maxed crit on jewelry is way more expensive than something that's 1% or even .5% less. Rings have 6% max crit. Amulets have 10% max crit. Changing the search parameters to 5% or 5.5% and 9 or 9.5% respectively is the difference between paying a few million to paying 10+ million.

yes that Is Akon on top.... but the bottom one is a wizard in Akon mode. See that's where the wizard get possessed by Akon then turns blackish purple like Akon's member and rapping about how he wishes people could see him now and what not.

I just spent 235m on these:

Now I'm gonna take a nice long break from the game. It's hard work bein on top :D:rolleyes:

Meh, I've been having more fun with my (now) level 28 monk than my level 60(5) wizard. Wizard playstyle is just getting too stale for me, and I haven't anything really great drop recently either.

Because the monk set is pretty bad. No resists, terrible set bonus (really, 0.33 spirit regen?). The worst rolled IK chest is still good. Anything but the best rolled Inna's chest is likely to cost you survivability, and possibly even damage.

Yea, I have no desire to use Inna's set. If I'm using any set it will be 2 piece Nat. Ring + boots.

Nat's ring rolled with crit damage, IAS, and crit chance is awesome. But I've only ever seen that once. It's on AH now for a billion or so. lol

I'm at the point now with D3 that I've decided that either I can spent real money on set pieces to go over 100k dps or I can stop playing for a while.

I really can't justify spending lots of money for set pieces that will likely mean jack shit when PVP finally arrives as it will change stat priority AGAIN.

Oh well D3 has been fun for what it is but grinding paragon levels is boring and while MP adds some spice , it's going to take more than the prospect of a nice ring to keep me playing when only gear upgrades will make it any better.

Not the best set, but a dex rolled Blackthorne's is decent. Belt + chest gives nice bonuses for cheap (sub 3M for both if you watch bids, I spent ~2M minus gems). 380+ dex, 190+ Vit, 70+AR from chest and whatever flavor resist you stack for OWE on the belt (also can get on chest as 2nd rolled random stat w/ dex, mine has + armor/+dex).

Just broke 85k unbuffed dps on my monk with 50% crit and 408% crit damage, but I can't decide if I want to drop 4k damage, 1% crit, and 9% attack speed (Inna's pants) so I can have increased resistances. It's 81k unbuffed with 555 resist all, versus 85k with 412 resist all. The 12% movement speed is nice from Inna's pants. The pants are about the only good thing from that set IMO, but not having resistance on them is a blow.

I had farmed 6 Infernal Machines for 2 attempts of each pair of uber bosses and haven't had a single organ drop. :(

I can farm the keys at MP6 but the bosses only at MP3, so my chances for organ drops fall pretty dramatically. The Siegebreaker/Kulle combo is by far the most difficult for me, but the other two are pretty manageable. I guess I just gotta keep at it. I'm not even sure if I'll use the ring if it doesn't roll amazing stats (at least two out of the crit/crit dmg/ias affixes at a high tier).

There are tons of people on reddit that will do ubers at mp10 for free. They will carry you as long as you have the infernal machines. They do this because it benefits them too...since they get a free Hellfire ring from it.

Find this today. I havent played a Wizard in a while so I am not sure of it's worth in gold, any ideas?

I just threw up Tal Rasha's Allegiance for 40 mil and so far the bidding is up to 25 mil...

That set is gold!

mp4 on bosses, up to mp6 farming, 60 k base, 94k crit, 1050 all resist and 2350 life regen and 3% life steal is very useful. I find being able to survive damage being useful

Yeah, I was browsing the infernalmachine subreddit before deciding to take the gamble with my machines and didn't find any immediately-available players making offers at the time. The ones that did make offers later edited their post stating that they were booked and couldn't take more people for a while. I guess I should have been more patient lol.

Anyone have some tips on how to improve my wiz? (http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Krieg1337-1699/hero/10289552)

I'm currently frustrated with wizard and have just been playing on my Monk(34 or something, not sure why it didn't update level, I killed the Skeleton king on nightmare MP10 solo)

xlron...you really need to increase your attack speed. Get it to around 2.0 dps or higher. Also get another 12% movement speed on there as well. The max is 25% so that will get you there. Your life is way to low as well...you should be around 40-50k but at least at a minimum of 30k...you are basically using the same skills I have, but I use spectral blades as main attack with the "Healing Blades" rune. Check my profile at http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/pcjunkie-1409/hero/20285773

Wiz's really need to kill fast while trying to stay alive so I would try energy armor when you get enough dps speed....less than 3000 armor isn't going to cut it. The good thing is there are lot of things you can improve and you are already at 60/MPL 5....

Alright, if only I got some decent drops. Even with the new patch I still just get junk, and don't really have any gold left right now(like 250k). I'll have to find someone that can farm MP10 with me or something

I think I have a better wand if you want it...I'd rather give it to someone who could use it than let them dam snipers get it and try and sell it for 200 mil..it doesn't come with damage converted to life though....

^^^the above exchange is the problem with d3. since you can't do well without grinding and buying on auction house, all advice becomes "spend more money getting more awesome items"

Correct advice, but not very useful for normal people who are hoping for a strategic or tactical answer he could execute, rather than just "you have the items of a poor person".

There is some room for real advice, like what is the cheapest way to get good, or what are the auction house deals. But the smart people who would usually research and answer such questions are either too busy grinding or ...

The way I got a lot of my items (in the AH) was instead of focusing on magic find....."well because finding upgrades after a while is like trying to win the lottery twice in a row" was to get gold farming gear and grind the highest levels I could tank through to get enough gold...farm a mil, check the ah, get gear, farm a mil, check ah, upgrade, continue...etc. slow but it works. Waiting for better drops playing normally will more than likely see you quit the game before getting them.

That would be nice of you pcjunkie(wand). I'm gonna grind a bit more on MP1/2 of act 1 and see if I get anything interesting over the few days. If not I'll level my monk and go on from there, I like the playstyle a bit more. I feel more useful for now :p

we fought 9 ubers at Monster Power 8 over the weekend. I got 0 body part drops. Yep 3 sessions of Ubers at MP8 and I didn't get a single body part.

Along with this I have 6 eye's in my inventory and 0 of the other two.....its seems Seigebreaker and Kool are the only ubers that drop things for me.

also also I have made about 10 rings all crap.....I really should get a photo together to show the magnitude of crap I have gotten.

Not all is bad though I started playing a barb with 100% gear I have found.....Barb is significantly better than the other classes for farming. At about 80k DPS......which for some reason feels like 150k on my wizard. Run like the wind all day.

Pre inferno mp levels scale differently than inferno MP. I don't think mp10 nightmare is any good indication of inferno viability. You're also decking your monk out with inferno level gems, so of course anything nightmare will be a cakewalk.

What act/mp level are you farming with your wizard? MP0 has been nerfed into the ground, if you can steamroll act 3 MP0, then farm there for a while. If you can't do act 3 MP0 yet, farm act 1 MP0. Killing speed is more important than MF and MP, only go after those 2 when you can stream roll act 3 MP0.

Yeah I know, I'm just saying it's more fun playing Monk for me right now. I wonder how Act IV will be as that is where I got raped hard with my wizard.

And I try to Farm MP1 Act 1, but I'm getting raped so I'll probably just do Public Act I runs. I don't think I ever managed to solo Act 2 yet. Probably gonna take a while though until I can farm Act 3 unless I get some crazy gear drop.

Have you done act 2 and 3 MP0 since the patch? Both of those wil be easier than act1/mp1.

I feel the same way about Tal Rasha's set for wizards. Those set bonuses are laughable when compared to any of the other sets :(

On another note, I'm stoked that i'm finally getting gear. I got a nice caster Ivory Tower that sold for a mil over the weekend, and actually believe it or not, got a rare ring drop which was an upgrade... 20-89 dmg, 72 All Res, 17% MF, 4.5% Crit Chance. woot!

So now i'm wearing two items which i found myself, pretty cool.

Now i'm just saving up to 2mil so i can finally put all these flesh pieces to use! Hoping i have good luck with the hellfire craft... please god no reduced level requirement!!!!!

So it is cheaper now to buy gems vs crafting them? I was doing the math earlier and it seemed like that was the case.

I asked my buddy about this and he said that people were duping gems via account rollbacks... can anyone confirm or deny this?

Also, do most people make sure to have one or two good rolled + health globes and potions affix on one or two pieces of gear? I have a couple by accident, but it sure is nice.

I don't think gems are getting duped at all. Yes it costs like 20 mil gold to craft the highest level gems and they are currently going for like 6-8 mil on the AH....but no one is crafting them anymore. There is no way to destroy gems in D3 (aside from selling @ the vendor anyway), that means the 100 bazillion gems crafted the first few months the game was out are just getting resold over and over.

Pub Act 3 runs are super quick and efficient these days. In 20 minutes to an hour you can do Siege Engines -> Azmodan. I usually net 5-10 Vendor runs of blues and yellows in that time. Usually netting around 500,000-700,000 gold after vendor and repairs.
