I spoke with Johan today, and I'm afraid the ban will not be reversed. This should not affect the ability to play on the metaservers though. Maybe you changed your password recently? It will then be the old one still.

Regards, K

I didnt change my password - I have same password for cca 18 months I was here - call me paranoid but I am pretty sure its related to my ban. Also If I cant have new account, I have in this case unusable Semper Fi CD key (I had 2 total, I gave away 1 of them) so I would like that refunded.

I totally lost my respect to Paradox. I helped you quite a lot during you 1.3 patch Steam version screwup (hell I spend half of last christmas by helping people who had questions or problems installing that fix, because HoI3 went on sale for 7.50€) and now I am being treated worse that pirate for few words on forum. If ban wont be reversed and I cant have new account I see no reason to ever pay for any future Paradox games if I will always be treated as pirate.

does this need any comment?

While your frustration is justified the response to the email is not. You need to stay calm and collected and ask for the reasons the ban occured and if they won't reverse the ban calmly accept it and ask for help in resolving the online play. If they continue to refuse inquire about a chargeback on your credit card. Whenever I see people poi t to what they've done for a company in the past they are generally arguing emotionally which isn't a good thing.

word. You're in their hands. If you wanna play bad enough to bother having a discourse you need to accept the situation for what it is and work with them to fix it.If they emailed you back they obviously are willing to help.

They are in Sweden so anything official would just be too expensive. I will find some other way to get even with them...

This post is getting back at them. I'm definitely not a fan of someone who bans you from playing a game you purchased. I won't be supporting them.

This is the perfect example why I'm not a fan of required accounts to play games(non mmorpgs). You buy a game, some idjit, dev, publisher shouldn't have the right to have an off switch. You should be able to play your games till you die. Same goes for required dedicated company servers.

Agreed, lashing out at them wont do any good.

Regardless, I doubt I'll be buying anymore Paradox games. Which sucks, because I actually like Mount & Blade.

Would also recommend that you contact the consumerist.

Semper Fi? More like Caveat emptor. Thanks for the heads up. Will certainly steer clear.

Damn, i never heard of linking your MP account to your forum one. That's some dirty ****.

Well you use your Battle.net account to log in to Blizzard forums... though I don't think you'll be banned ingame just because your forum account is banned.

Man...Rebel, I saw you popping up in my steam friend's list the other night as I was playing BC2 over and over as "playing", then "playing" again, and again. I figured you were having some kind of problem...didn't think it was this bad.

From someone that had a temp ban on the forums, that is the case. Blizzard will ban you for being an asshat on their forums but you can still play the games.

I am going to steer clear of this developer from now on. You paid for the game and unless you broke the EULA for the game itself in the game somehow, you have a right to play it.

wow thats messed up
but why the heck would you buy the expansion to an apparently crappy game?

Yeah my old WoW account was banned from the WoW forums for life but not that game. I'm glad Blizzard keeps shit like that separate.

HoI3 is fun in Multiplayer (we had nice group of 8+ regular players), but singleplayer is filled with actions of stupid AI. Tried to play last few days singleplayer only to realize that AI is just too dumb (I defeated UK when playing as Cuba !!! )
HoI3 MP = lots of fun
HoI3 SP = not worth 5$

a charge back will get your money back, plus a fee to the company for the paperwork. do it now.

Paradox only publishes M&B, I believe that the husband & wife team still develop the game.
Paradox really hasn't made any decent games, anyway. The last good game I can remember them doing was... Airfix Dogfighter about ten years ago? I believe that was a joint effort as well.

do a chargeback on your credit card. and file a complaint with the BBB agaist them. srs

Thanks for the heads up will be posting this info on the site a group of us that game together have. Paradox will not be getting any of my business.

Do a credit card chargeback, file a claim with the BBB.

This is all bad advice. Since OP bought the game on Steam, a chargeback WILL result in his Steam account being permanently disabled.

WHY WOULD A STEAM ACCOUNT BE DISABLED?

Any fraudulent credit card use, credit card chargebacks, or Paypal chargebacks (regardless of when the transaction occurred).

/whoops on tread necro :p
