Can anyone give any validity to reports that Destiny will only have 1 area per planet? That seems mighty low imo, I know there was a bit more to Old Russia but I thought they had Chicago and multiple other areas.

-- http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheG...just_confirmed_that_theres_only_one_area_per/During a "2old2play" live-stream on Twitch, Deej was asked how many "explorable areas" there are per planet. He went on to say that there are in fact one destination per planet.
The live-stream is still going on, so I can't link it on here, but once it is over I will.

They better explain the 1 area per planet thing. People are losing their shit over on gaf.
So we've seen all of Earth and the Moon? That can't be right. I'm disappointed if it is, because that means I cleared the entire Moon map yesterday just exploring. Made it to the Temple of Crota by just following the path deeper, and it actually takes you all the way there... So that was the entire Moon map? There's only 5 planets? This game just got its legs chopped off....

I love the fact people are freaking the hell out over something that hasn't been confirmed in any shape way or form.
Deej's exact words, "We've revealed everything you're going to explore in the first version of the game."
He later goes on to say that for release single explorable areas will be available on Earth, Moon, Mars, and Venus and possibly Jupiter as a "surprise" since he didn't mention it and you see it on the select-able map. They oversold us big time for what would be realistically possible upon release.
Until they say otherwise..... what do you think started this in the first place?

So why is this of concern?
When a legit published info from them is done....I'll start getting upset. But getting pissed based off what their spokesperson says during a twitch stream? I don't think so.....those assholes are generally the last to know whats going on for a reason.
ummm a Spokesperson for the Dev knows everything about the product including what he isnt allowed to say in public. You can pull the blinds down over your eyes all you want but how is a Spokesman from the dev not a legit source?
What ever you say bud. This board is so negative on everything anymore. I'm just saying I'm not gonna get my blood pressure till a real announcement is made, not a comment on a flippin twitch feed :/
I have a feeling that we'll have 1 explorable area per planet at release, and that Bungie will release free DLC of one additional explorable area per planet every 2-3 months up to the first paid expansion release. Then they'll do additional free DLC until the following second paid expansion is released.
That's how MMOs typically work...content is added over time to keep players interested. Blow your load all at release and players will have no reason to come back to your game once they play through it all within the first few months. Lucky for me, I'm also very intrigued by the PvP so that will keep me occupied while I wait for content releases.

Wow, no match-making for raids. Another foot-bullet by the inept designers over at Bungie.

Where did you read about that? As far as I know, Bungie hasn't released any details about how Raids will work in the final retail game.Wow, no match-making for raids. Another foot-bullet by the inept designers over at Bungie.

Raids are “extremely crafted,” six-player, friends-only gauntlet runs that might best be described as gut-checks. Yes, they will be difficult, and they will absolutely require communication and cooperation. That’s why Bungie isn’t supporting matchmaking for them; the developers don’t want them to be played by disparate groups of strangers. But Smith is quick to point out that they’re not like Strikes – the instanced dungeon-like runs that might take a mere 20-60 minutes – but more like MMO raids in that you’re going to want to buckle up and get comfortable for a couple hours. -- http://ca.ign.com/articles/2014/07/30/destiny-the-endgame-is-only-the-beginning-ign-first
Wasn't defending it, I just couldn't find any reference to it.(via www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=864776)
The number of people /defending/ this makes me sad.
WHAT would it hurt to have matchmaking? You want to do it with friends? Fine, but for people that want to play those and they might not be able to get 6 people to do them they should be able to do it with pugs.
Open up your fireteam tab in the game....look for players in the same area....friend them.
Done.
Or you could friend them and play with them a little over time to make sure they aren't dumbasses.
