Dell UltraSharp U3011 $1124 + Tax w/ Free Shipping

I ordered mine yesterday and just got an email that it's already shipped, with estimated delivery date of 11/22. :D

In for... a world of hurt if I buy one of these.

I've still got that 3008wfp to rebuild, but not before I finish the conduit and stuff.

Yes if I pulled the trigger on this I'd take some more kinda of ass chewing..........not worth it. The monitor yes, the ass chewing............No.

Ouch. Could have saved about $120. Oh well, no way to predict this coupons. I was afraid of missing the 25% off if I didn't act quickly.

That's like wanting a Ferrari when you already own a Ferrari.

And then you walk to your garage, and cooly sip whatever it is Ferrari drivers sip and think "yeah, this is alright." So that's what you should do I guess. Drag your monitor to your garage, change your background to a Ferrari, and sip.

couldnt resist. been waiting for a 30 inch for a long time, maybe two or three years now, its time. thanks for the linkage.
$1072.53 shipped. delivery expected by 12/17.

Man I want one so bad but I already have a 3008, what to do!

Buy one like I did. :D

I already have a 3008WFP and 3007WFP-HC, but I've always heard that good things come in threes...

I already have 3 3007WFP-HC and 1 3008WFP. I paid $750 for each. No room for another one. Do not hesitate to get another 20 inch. The excess, this is the American way and only way.;)

Tri-SLI, tri-crossfire, to be able to game on them at nativish resolution...

That is completely untrue - I game with a single GPU card on my 30 inchers all the time. Granted, SLI is better but you don't NEED it in any form.

Once decent GPU is enough for a 30." SLI/CF is not required by any means.

I paid $800 for a refurb HP LP3065 like 2 years ago and it is the best purchase I've ever made. This is a good deal and pretty tempted to get another one now that I graduated college and actually have an income.

p.s. I've gamed fine with my GTX260 on my 30" for like 2 years. A GTX 470/480 or HD5870 should have no issues with the latest games

Just got mine.

Giftmas came early this year!

It didn't look much bigger than my 24" when unpacking it out of the box, but sitting in front of it is an amazing experience!

This will be the third stupidly expensive monitor I have bought in a row :)

1.) 22" Diamondtron 1600x1200 CRT in 2000
2.) 24" Wide Screen 1920x1200 LCD in 2005
3.) 30" Wide Screen 2560x1600 LCD today :)

The funny thing is that all of them cost just about $1000 when I bought them.

If things go as they have with the last two monitors, I'll have this for 5 years at which point it will be the norm, and then it will be time to upgrade again :p

I'll probably have buyers guilt for spending this kind of money on a screen for the next month or so, but then I'll get used to it, and wonder how I ever lived without it :p

It depends on what you play. Even a single GTX580 will not power Metro 2033 with everything on max at 2560x1600 :p (Everything on max is - of course - the minimum requirement :p )

I just fired up S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat, and it runs fine at 2560x1600 with everything on max, as long as I don't try to turn on any AA on my GTX470. (I averaged ~35fps during my test) I've got a GTX580 coming next week so I can turn on some AA though :p

I don't think 30" will become the norm even in five years.

30" might become standard in 5 years; but if so it's almost certainly going to be a 30" 1920x1080 screen.

Can I just stick with 1900x1200? At least gaming wise, would the quality be really bad?

I just tried it earlier.

Its not bad, the interpolation is pretty damned good. It is much sharper in 2560x1600 though.

If I didn't have the temptation to go 2560x1600 I think I'd be OK with the 1920x1200 quality. Its amazing how good these things have become at interpolation...

1280? Do you mean 1080?

He could also mean 1200, although I doubt it. I hate how screens are becoming 1080 rather than 1200.

I know , it's sad. I - too - prefer the 16:10 aspect ratio, but there is money to be saved by sharing panels with TV's...

1920x1080 seems a little low for a 30" screen you are going to sit close too though..

I really want this... but can't justify 1k :(

If I get a 20k bonus this year... I might

Glad it died before I could buy. :D For my needs the ZR30W might be better anyway.
