Is the Dell VESA mount compatible?
Quite a few movies are in the cinemawide 2.35:1 aspect ratio which is pretty close to the 21:9 aspect ratio.
here is The Fifth Element in full screen on my 21:9,
damn that red is popping on her hair haha..mind if i ask what display setting u have going on your monitor? brightness, contrast, etc?

I am running stock settings on this LG monitor, that was right out of the box and hooked up to the PC and I fired up that movie.
Brightness 100
Contrast 70
Color Warm
Black Level High
When my friend gets his Dell, I'll grap a shot of the movie on his screen and see how it compares.
haha i thought u were showing off your dell monitor..but damn thats some high brightness stock setting! dell stock is only 75
btw, i noticed the background and all that stuff behind your monitor..it appears like 5ft away? is it safe? cause if there's an accident/earthquake and stuff starts tumbling down, that monitor's gonna get splattered haha
Mine was delivered about 2 hours ago, but I'm stuck at the office for at least 6 more hours
Got mine today with moderate backlight bleed.
So far I'm underwhelmed but that's mainly because I'm coming from a setup of three 30 inch 3007WFP-HC. This just doesn't compete but I had to make the switch because graphics cards have been so stagnant. Three GTX Titans weren't enough to max some games on the old setup but years later there still isn't anything worth upgrading to. And for games with bad multi-monitor support it sucked...I was just trying to dig into Dragon Age 2 before I install inquisition and it was almost impossible to play with the HUD at opposite edges of such a massive setup. So, although this new monitor is a downgrade, it will at least let me max some games I was struggling with before and take care of compatibility issues.
It's not quite big enough...needs 3 inches vertically and about 3 inches on each side to be perfect. I think anyone who comes over from a standard size monitor or a small triple setup will be happy though.
The curve doesn't add much and isn't worth paying a premium price...it should actually be curved just a little more

I think it's unfair to compare one monitor to 3. I think the U3415W compares favorably to either of the Dell 30" on their own and is priced about the same (if not less with the discounts). Your setup might be a downgrade, but I wouldn't think of the monitor itself as one.
It's fair because there isn't really the option to get 3 of the U3415W . . .that would just end up being worse in every way than my old setup. Unfortunately the U3415W has to stand on its own due to Nvidia surround/eyefinity not allowing you to mix different sized monitors. There's just no feasible way to upgrade from one U3415W and that's a huge mark against it. The only thing you can realistically do is run a dual setup, which leaves you with bezels right in the middle.

Do these have any backlight bleeding?
Do these have any backlight bleeding?
No, they (almost) all have the typical IPS glow, except when they have a special filter. All backlit displays (IPS or not) can have BLB (not glow) depending on the assembly quality of the particular displayAll IPS have Backlight Bleeding

Anyone still getting good discounts on this thing?
I'm trying to get one using the coupons: THR0K3N1?05JT3 and MQFL7LKHT?NK12
They both worked two days ago, but aren't now. Anyone have a suggestion?
Surround issues aside wouldn't your best bet for a setup be this monitor with 27" 2560x1140 (U2715H) monitors on each side?
This would work correctly for games under Eyefinity. Surround currently would not support it as you stated though.
Would mixing sizes really work with eyefinity? That's interesting to know. The end result of that setup would still be too tall and not wide enough though, with too many pixels to drive effectively.
With my old setup I always just wished I could cut off the outside half of each monitor. A 24:10 running at 5120x1600 would be the perfect display for gaming.
Well unless you have a newer videocard with HDMI 2.0, then you'll be capped at 30 fps using HDMI. If that's the case, then move to DP.
Mixed-rez has been around for a while on Eyefinity.

PLP, I believe, only exists with the 285 (and presumably future GPUs).
What is the max resolution supported by DisplayPort 1.1?
I am using a pretty old Radeon HD5750. Works fine in 2560x1600. Do I need to upgrade graphic card with this monitor?
